The officer now has two warrant cards, one in their male name and the other in their female name. They can report for work in either male or female uniform

This is why I think gender fluid/ non-binary is even more ridiculous than the idea people can change sex - and it is ridiculous.

I understand that dysphoria is real but if there is no dysphoria what are we actuality talking about-as far as I can see it's just entitled males pissing down our backs and telling us it's raining.

The fact the police or any other official body take that utter piss-taking bs seriously blows my mind Angry

AngryAttackKittens · 01/08/2018 09:42

My money would also be on someone important (ie not Bradley) funding the legal team in order to figure out if the tactics being used here will work when their own skeletons fall out of the closet.

TimeLady · 01/08/2018 09:44

You can only register on the electoral roll under one name; if you have changed it

You don't have to tell us your previous name but it will help us identify you, and you might need to send us copies of identity documents if you don't.

According to my Household Enquiry Form which arrived yesterday

"The electoral register … is used for other limited purposes specified in law, such as:

detecting crime (eg: fraud)
calling people for jury service
checking credit applications"

so whereas you can informally use any name you like, I'm not convinced the legal situation is the same

Mxyzptlk · 01/08/2018 10:37

Didn't one of the ManFriday women get her driving licence changed to male with no evidence required though?

Yes. No evidence needed and still the same clearly female name.

Mxyzptlk · 01/08/2018 10:40

In Scotland, you can use any name you like provided you are not using it for a criminal or fraudulent reason.
Does JB live in Scotland? Being as JB is director of Edinburgh Action for Trans Health?

Popchyk · 01/08/2018 10:44

With the Jess Bradley/NUS thing:

This is all on the Companies House website by the way, so in the public domain.

  1. Jess Bradley, dob November 1988, is made director of NATIONAL UNION OF STUDENTS (UNITED KINGDOM) company on August 1, 2017. Resigns 27 November 2017.
  1. Jess Bradley, dob February 1995, is made director of another company NUS STUDENTS' UNION CHARITABLE SERVICES company on September 1 2017. Bradley resigns 27 November 2017.

So, doesn't really matter about the anomalies of date of birth, right? Because the NUS seems to have got shot sharpish anyway.

Now here's where it gets interesting.

A Joshua Harry Bradley, dob November 1998, is elected director of the first company NATIONAL UNION OF STUDENTS (UNITED KINGDOM) in February 2018. And is still a director now. Jess Bradley resigned from that same company in November 2017.

Question is.

Why did the NUS get shot of Jess and then appoint a 10 years younger Joshua three months later?

Jess Bradley has set up another further 3 companies since then by the way, so it is not like they have reverted to a previous name.

OrchidInTheSun · 01/08/2018 10:52

Bradley is in Manchester, not Scotland

ReluctantCamper · 01/08/2018 11:00

so confusing

this says

The NUS UK is one of the 6 legal entities which makes up the NUS Group.

This Board is made up of:

The National President
6 SU Officer Directors
4 NUS Officer Directors
4 External Directors

I believe the 10 elected officers are listed here

I clicked through their bloody slow website. None of them are called Joshua Bradley.

So is the Joshua Bradley in Popchyk's post above one and the same as Jess Bradley? If so why the birth year discrepancy?

BirthCanal · 01/08/2018 11:11

www.nusconnect.org.uk/articles/there-is-nothing-radical-or-feminist-about-transphobia

So having read this shit posted on Jess' Trans president page, what the hell is she on about with all the headlock stuff by Maria? I simply don't believe it.

Sarahconnor1 · 01/08/2018 11:11

ReluctantCamper

I've just been ponder the same point. On companies house Joshua Bradley's occupation is listed as NUS officer.

ReluctantCamper · 01/08/2018 11:12

from Jess's bio on the NUS website

I set up in 2014 and the Trans Equality Legal Initiative in 2016 and have been doing trans activism ever since

what did Jess set up in 2014? It appears to have been omitted or redacted.

ReluctantCamper · 01/08/2018 11:15

having checked the NUS rules, there's no age restriction for being an officer. It's weird that Jess / Joshua Bradley (if they are indeed the same person) seems to have been getting progressively younger though.

BettyDuMonde · 01/08/2018 11:17

If you look through the other directors/NUS officer appointments on companies house they almost all begin end of June/July/beginning of August - makes sense - they are elected throughout April and May at the various conferences and begin their elected terms officially from the 1st of July.

JB was elected at the 2017 conference to serve July 2017- June 2018 and re-elected at the 2018 conference to serve from July 2018 onwards.

Ending appointments in Nov and starting them in Feb isn’t usual practise, although would make sense if someone stepped down from their elected position without completing the term... JB does not fit that criteria.

AngryAttackKittens · 01/08/2018 11:19

Benjamina Button?

Are we sure these are all the same person? Bradley's not an uncommon name.

ReluctantCamper · 01/08/2018 11:19

as an aside I note that the LGBT+ officer (women's place) is a transwoman and signs off their bio with the following

she/her/hers and xe/xem/xyr

good luck with that equal representation thing student lesbians.

The LBGT+ officer (open place), the LGBT+ officer (women's place), and the Trans officer are all persons who were born male.

AngryAttackKittens · 01/08/2018 11:20

How do you even say xem?

BettyDuMonde · 01/08/2018 11:20

The 2014 ‘set up’ that appears to have been clumsily removed from the NUS site must be (the utterly batshit) Action for Trans Health, no?

ReluctantCamper · 01/08/2018 11:21

Are we sure these are all the same person? Bradley's not an uncommon name

if not, where is Joshua Bradley? why isn't he listed on the NUS website?

BirthCanal · 01/08/2018 11:22

All 3 male ffs

ReluctantCamper · 01/08/2018 11:23

must be (the utterly batshit) Action for Trans Health, no?

makes sense

I'd disavow that shower of crazy too

right, less csi, more actual paid work

BettyDuMonde · 01/08/2018 11:25

beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/09196863/officers

ATH has Josh Bradley as a former director (2014-2018) same Manchester correspondence address as Jess Bradley’s current companies...

R0wantrees · 01/08/2018 11:27

ReluctantCamper

You can see Jess Bradley's manifesto from when they first stood for NUS Trans Officer (2017)

My money would also be on someone important (ie not Bradley) funding the legal team in order to figure out if the tactics being used here will work when their own skeletons fall out of the closet

This is exactly why a high profile lawyer is involved. Because they could make a mint if it works...although it does seem to have not worked being that we all know, but I suspect this is the very tip of the preverbial iceberg. If they have put a kybosh on the other [percentage removed by MNHQ] then who knows what is waiting to pop out?

Agastache · 01/08/2018 11:37

seems to have been getting progressively younger though.

Perhaps he has his mini-me registered as well?

ReluctantCamper · 01/08/2018 11:39

still thinking about this

As Bradley has held the post for 2017/18 and 2018/19, this

1. Jess Bradley, dob November 1988, is made director of NATIONAL UNION OF STUDENTS (UNITED KINGDOM) company on August 1, 2017

must relate to their election as trans officer

But what happened on 27 November 2017 to cause their resignation?

what was going on last autumn?

were they officially removed from the board? don't think this was publicised on the wenbsite?

But then in February 2018 (so still during the term of the 2017/18 post) Joshua Harry Bradley, dob November 1998 is put on the board and is still on the board.

As there are no Joshua Bradleys listed on the NUS website I will assume Joshua Bradley = Jess Bradley.

Why was there a period of 2 months when Jess Bradley was an elected officer but not on the board?

Regarding the birth dates, I do wonder if Jess Bradley just has fucking awful handwriting and it's all quite innocent!
