There was some discussion on the previous thread about whether women ever flash and how men feel about it if they do. DH was once flashed on the tube by an elderly woman who he said looked like a rough sleeper/alcoholic. He was a young man at the time and found it very disturbing - although I doubt he felt physically threatened in the way that women do by male flashers. The comment that women flash from a position of weakness is absolutely true in this instance.

Just wanted to put a reminder here for any new lurkers who are wondering what the hell is going on and what this thread is all about:

A person who held a high-profile NUS role has been linked to a blog that involves

  • hosting images of a penis being exposed in public places, and discussing the thrill of potentially being seen (it is not clear whether this image is of the blog-owner, but spaces and places may link them back to the blog-owner)
  • hosting images on that blog of underage people exposing themselves
  • hosting images of a popular children's cartoon character being sexually abused
-hosting discussion of incest

That person was also heavily involved in informing the UK government on changes to the law that would change and increase the access that male-bodied people have to female-sex-segregated spaces.

That person was also heavily involved in Action for Trans Health - google their manifesto, but in short, it campaigns for the release of all trans prisoners, regardless of their crime, and many other issues of concern.

That person was also interviewed very recently on Sky News in response to feminist concerns about the current trans-agenda, and spoke about their fear of women, their status as a 'non-binary woman' and how they believed there was no definition of 'real women'.

It's not yet affirmed whether this person is defiintely the same person who posted the blog.

However, the same person has posted a statement that doesn't deny their personal link to the blog that was suggested in the media and by the twitter account that first highlighted the blog and actions.

The above twitter account implies that they know this person. And that there are 'survivors' of this person's actions. (Empathy goes out to those survivors if they have been affected by the actions of this person, either directly through the blog, or other actions not yet disclosed).

PSA over - for the lurkers!

I am desperate for Private Eye to pick this up and really do some digging. They are aware of all this. We know that. And they are old adversaries of Carter Fuck

Datun · 01/08/2018 06:04

I cannot accept that our government is not doing even cursory checks on people who advise them on policies that will have safeguarding implications.

Not once, in its entire 98 pages, did Maria Miller's report address autogynephilia. In fact it isn't even mentioned.

My initial letter to my MP was forwarded to Caroline Dinedage who replied that the very existence of AGP was 'controversial'.

They had absolutely no jdea.

Unforgivable.

Zero due diligence.

One intern with one keyboard and one hour could have done it.

Easily. I did. We all did.

TransplantsArePlants · 01/08/2018 06:11

Yes. It's woeful.

TimeLady · 01/08/2018 06:50

I agree that the Carter Ruck involvement suggests there is more to hide, possibly (probably?) embarrassing connections to some influential people with deep pockets. A lowly NUS officer's dodgy blog doesn't warrant this attention on its own.

Bowlofbabelfish · 01/08/2018 06:54

All the stuff about survivors on that UoB statement - what do they mean? Survivors of what?

It’s hard to know if they mean something real when they throw around terms like transmisogyny and seek perpetual victimhood.

Datun · 01/08/2018 06:55

A lowly NUS officer's dodgy blog doesn't warrant this attention on its own.

Either that or they're using it to cement precedent. Because losing isn't that bad as it's just a lowly NUS officer.

Going through the process, examining all the possibilities, seeing what the Daily Mail come back with. All useful for when they're hired by someone who matters.

Agastache · 01/08/2018 07:00

JB is a director of the NUS. Nothing lowly about it. Also, has other directorships and 3 different dates of birth.

TimeLady · 01/08/2018 07:04

...and what looks like two legal names.

NynaeveSedai · 01/08/2018 07:09

3 dates of birth?

TimeLady · 01/08/2018 07:14

1988 (probably correct) 1995 and 1998 (probably a typo)

Data from Companies House.

Agastache · 01/08/2018 07:35

3 dates of birth?

I know, right?

OrchidInTheSun · 01/08/2018 07:37

Resigned from both of the NUS directorships within a few months of appointment at the back end of last year. How interesting

TheMostBeautifulDogInTheWorld · 01/08/2018 07:39

I would imagine that the whistle blower would have informed the police,

Very much NOT, I would say. Assuming that the Twitter account claiming to be said whistleblower is genuine. The account talked of wanting "restorative" justice and specifically mentioned wanting to avoid "carceral" processes; "carceral" in this context (see ATH itself) basically meaning the criminal justice system in any form.

I would think that that same attitude is probably widespread within the NUS itself too; and they wouldn't be the first organisation (and won't be the last) to think that their own internal procedures are just fine thanks and that protecting the organisation itself is paramount. Even though we have seen again and again where all that goes, when it comes to abuse of the vulnerable.

Now none of that means that the police are not aware of this. In fact I can sort of envisage a situation where there is a police investigation going on; where Carter Ruck are arguing that the Cliff Richard thing means that the press can't report that; so the Mail didn't report that bit and reported the NUS internal enquiry instead, to be on the safe side for now.

But equally I'm not sure we can assume that there is a police investigation either.

(Please read all the above as liberally scattered with "allegedlys" and "just speculation" and so on).

Currently registered as a director with Companies House as Joshua with the NUS and as Jess with two Manchester in Common companies.

Very odd

OrchidInTheSun · 01/08/2018 07:55

Wow! He's dead naming himself. Isn't that like literal violence?

TimeLady · 01/08/2018 08:03

Surely you have to register for things like this in your legal name?

Can you have two? I thought you had to change officially via deed poll.

OrchidInTheSun · 01/08/2018 08:09

That's an interesting point. Didn't one of the ManFriday women get her driving licence changed to make with no evidence required though? I suspect the government are scared of getting things wrong. None of the tw I know have GRCs nor have they changed their names by deed poll

Ereshkigal · 01/08/2018 08:11

It can't be 1998 or 1995 as this would make Bradley too young for living on own with flatmates and setting up a naked cooking website in 2011.

NynaeveSedai · 01/08/2018 08:18

So where it says he's 24 online that's a big lie?

Ereshkigal · 01/08/2018 08:21

I think Nov 1988 is the plausible one, given that JB is speaking as an expert on trans healthcare in Sept 2015 which would make JB 27 if born in Nov 88.

Ereshkigal · 01/08/2018 08:23

It's possible but that would make Bradley a bit young for the Vegan Cooking/naked tea party.
