VaggieMight

As far as I am concerned, Bradley expresses all the signs of a seriously predatory male, grooming people as he works his ways through the various phases of escalation.

I'm feeling pretty angry about the positions of power this person achieved when it was so obvious that their claim to be a 'non-binary woman' was utter crap and no one could say it without being called a bigot.

Serious questions need to be asked about what due diligence is done on people invited to advise government.

JackyHolyoake · 31/07/2018 20:25

Bowlofbabelfish

Due diligence is sometimes not enough; give this a listen:

Melamin · 31/07/2018 20:26

It's why the misogyny of this movement, going after Mumsnet so aggressively when there are so many people out there who are a lot more 'transphobic' than anyone on here, is so obvious

Go for the female organisations like GG, Fawcett, liberal feminists lesbians W&EC - then everyone who is saying 'that is not a woman' will be pulled into line by the stepford organisations and women. Coz they ain't gonna convince the sun readers any other way.

Who was the convicted sex offender invited to the commons/lords to advise? Karen someone?

Statement from UoB Trans Officer. Grit your teeth...

Jess Bradley, suspended - Part II
Sarahconnor1 · 31/07/2018 21:02

The thing is, in the real world outside of Twitter, people don't buy that Jess or any other transwoman are actually women

I agree with this but I don't think most people understand the current issues around self I'D, or that people like Jess have been given such an influence in the debate.

UpstartCrow · 31/07/2018 21:05

SunsetBeetch Funny thing is, if misogyny were a hate crime they wouldn't have been able to print that.

ButchyRestingFace · 31/07/2018 21:10

The thing is, in the real world outside of Twitter, people don't buy that Jess or any other transwoman are actually women. And that's before any sort of deviant sexual behaviour comes into it.

They do in theatre world (in which I have the misfortune, God help me, to work on occasion). God, do they ever! Although whether working in "The Arts" can really count as the "real world" is a $64,000 question.

CertainHalfDesertedStreets · 31/07/2018 21:16

You know, when I was very little I heard the word 'flasher', and I picked up the cultural references to old Macs, and 'dirty old men', but I never actually connected it to the idea of a man with an erection, masturbating. I think I had this thought in my head of an old man, naked under a raincoat, opening it dramatically to reveal flaccid wobbliness and then running away.

This. I've been flashed at least five times. Every. Single. Time the guy was wanking.

Some other wanker will be along in a minute to say 'you should have called the police' It's like they live in a parallel universe where flashers can't just ZIP UP THEIR TROUSERS AND RUN AWAY and if they did the police would devote all their resources to finding snd prosecuting them like an episode of CSI Hmm

It was Karen Jones who was invited to speak at the House of Lords.

Karen Jones was described by a judge as a serious danger to the public after killing Michael Cutler by strangulation and suffocation and leaving his body to decompose in a sheet in the kitchen of their home. Karen Jones was 18 at the time and living as a man. Karen Jones was apparently provoked into killing the man during an argument.

Karen Jones was released in 2002, and five days after being released from prison Karen Jones attacked and attempted to rape a woman working as a shop assistant who was working in a shop selling women's underwear and accessories to men. Karen Jones was 21 at the time and now living as a woman (however a woman lives Hmm )

Karen Jones forced a lemon into the woman's mouth, punched the woman in the face, held the woman by her hair, and attempted to rape the woman.

The rape was unsuccessful because Karen Jones was unable to get aroused enough to penetrate the woman.

The woman described the violent attack and attempted rape as being so terrifying she believed Karen Jones would kill her.

This violence and attempted rape was all apparently so Karen Jones could go back to prison as a cry for help to get a sex change operation.

The attack and attempted rape took place as Karen Jones was housed in a women's bail hostel.

The judge at this trial said that Karen Jones was an extreme risk to the public to the point that this risk might result with someone else's death.

They were added to the sex offenders register, but I'm unclear if that was under the name Karen Jones or Mark Jones.

Karen Jones has apparently changed names twice to prevent people finding out about their past.

VaggieMight

"Yes, the signs are there. And yet JB was selected to give testimony in Parliament to Maria Miller's Women and Equalities Commission, and JB's testimony was cited seven times in the final report."

Never underestimate the power of the predatory male to groom others ... remember Saville and his ability to groom others? They are highly plausible. [I am not saying that Bradley is the same as Saville. What I am saying is that determined groomers are skilled at manipulating others.]

Some people on the receiving end of grooming ignore / discount the hackles rising on the back of their neck for whatever reasons.

mrnohips · 31/07/2018 21:29

How anyone can continue to refer to Bradley as ‘she’ baffles me. Getting your dick out in public is possibly the most male behavior I can think of.

There was a creepy pervert in my village who liked to flash women.
This person had a penis.
This person was a man.

Interesting vid jacky - I’ve worked with a couple of people I would absolutely class as having serious psychopath tendencies. Both very high achievers.

And yes, there’s a limit to due diligence.

even the most cursory of checks would have turned up this blog - there are allegedly images of incest, rape and what is being alleged to be underage sexual activity. I cannot accept that our government is not doing even cursory checks on people who advise them on policies that will have safeguarding implications.

And yes Karen jones - I was gobsmacked at them being called in to advise. Why on earth choose a violent sex attacker?? There are plenty of trans voices who are reasonable and measured who they could have asked - why on earth choose someone like Jones? I can’t get my head round it.

Hygge · 31/07/2018 21:37

"So a man then"

Yep.

I felt like I was writing a really annoying dystopian book with half that post.

Melamin · 31/07/2018 21:38

Some people on the receiving end of grooming ignore / discount the hackles rising on the back of their neck for whatever reasons.

Nobody likes to think they are being groomed. It happens to other people. Then if they do realise, they need a way out.

Then again, no one likes to think they are a pervert either Hmm
