And that's before we even get to the part of trying to persuade the public that sometimes this pervy flashing of the penis is a natural part of a female sexuality.

FTFY LangCleg!

Helen Belcher of Trans Media Watch

Yes sorry should have mentioned the organisation.

Alicethroughtheblackmirror · 31/07/2018 16:06

Ah yes, the "natural part of female sexuality". I saw the blog which tried to argue this was "kink shaming". What kind of grotesque contortions are these people willing to stoop to to defend perverts? Claiming to be a woman seems to be a get out jail free card to excuse any sort of aberrant behaviour. Irrespective of the fact that women don't tend to do this!

Agastache · 31/07/2018 16:12

The fact that very few TRAs are up in arms about this - is very telling.

EmpressOfSpartacus · 31/07/2018 16:21

The fact that very few TRAs are up in arms about this - is very telling.

It does show that their priorities are less women's safety, more their "unfettered access" to spaces where we're naked.

The fact that their response to our fears about men in our spaces is usually "Just call the police" and when you turn it back on them (why can't TWs do that if anyone's unpleasant to them in the men's?) you just hear crickets, speaks volumes in my opinion.

Indierockandroll · 31/07/2018 16:33

Apologies if this has already been posted but Peachy Yoghurt has done a video on JB.

It was interesting to read that C4 are (were?) featuring them in a documentary on their naturist hobbies.

Maybe it should be more suitable for Dispatches. Or Crimewatch?

I'm not JOSHing either (slang for joking, MN)

Moanslice · 31/07/2018 16:34

I think it is really important to find out who is paying for Carter Ruck. How can we do that, does anyone know?

DrMumMum · 31/07/2018 16:43

I commented on this story on a local paper's facebook page. There are loads of really insulting comments to be frank, mainly about Jess' personal appearance. I happened to comment that I would rather not share a female only space with this someone who likes to flash their penis and I got deleted and told off (by fb) for hate speech! The warning actually mentioned hate speech when all the other really nasty personal comments are standing. Shocked.

Sheila Jeffreys has repeatedly warned, over several years, that transactivism is men's sexual rights' activism ... all their sexual fetishes / kinks expressed in public and never mind any children and women.

See Sheila's talks on You Tube [via We Need To Talk] esp about the Yogyakarta Principles, which you can also read about here:

Ereshkigal · 31/07/2018 16:47

That's typical, DrMumMum! Facebook is a misogynistic cesspit, like Twitter.

TheCountryGirl · 31/07/2018 16:57

Jacky that's grim.🤮

I sincerely hope this blog is being looked into by the police as well as the NUS. I clicked on it at the time of the initial thread and it was vile.

Whether or not it is linked to Bradley as alleged, the blog documented illegal activity (flashing), shared videos supposedly of under 16 boys masturbating which would be distribution of sexual images of a child and shared videos of supposed incestual rape. For the latter two I can only hope that they were adult actors in films made to appeal to the appetites of paedophiles rather than actual children being abused.

It is sickening to contemplate that this blog could be created by someone who has been advising the government on removing safeguards for women and children.

Thanks Jacky, that's a fantastic piece. Utterly depressing. I worry for my teenage daughter and her friends in a world where they can no longer call out this sort of behaviour and, worse, are told it is to be tolerated or encouraged.

It is all and only about grooming younger females that they have no right to set any boundaries in relation to males. That males must have access to females at all times, in all places.

This is why we fight it.

Older females [ie: 30+ years], who are more knowledgeable and experienced are vilified because we get in the way of this. We are resistant to their grooming.

VickyEadie · 31/07/2018 17:24

This. It's why they're so nasty to transsexuals, too.

Dragoncake · 31/07/2018 17:35

I agree LangCleg. 'Flasher advises government to dismantle the safeguarding of women and children. Nobody objects, government listens' wouldn't be a good look.

Butteredparsn1ps · 31/07/2018 17:46

Has taken me 2 days to get through the material here. Now off to read the mail. Not anything I thought I'd be posting here.

Really have fallen down the rabbit hole straight into the mad hatters world.

Hygge · 31/07/2018 17:48

@DrMumMum - I had a facebook pop up today asking if I thought Facebook values it's users.

They had one of those Strongly Agree / Agree / Neither Agree Nor Disagree / Disagree / Strongly Disagree choices and a box to add a further comment.

I said I disagreed that Facebook cares about it's users and cited two reasons.

The first was that I reported an image of a woman being pushed downstairs by a man, with the caption "next time don't get pregnant bitch' on it. Facebook had replied to say that did not violate their terms in any way as it was humorous. Nine months later they finally contacted me to say they had changed their mind and removed it.

The second was that they censored WPUK as malicious for wanting to discuss women's issues without being attacked, which I feel is wrong. So I said I do not believe that Facebook cares about it's female users.

I don't know if you can just find that survey but if you do come across it I would tell them what you think and why.

Moanslice · 31/07/2018 17:48

How these fuckers claim 'oppression' when they have access to the likes of Carter Ruck is sickening

Indierockandroll · 31/07/2018 17:52

Well on Cliff, gagging orders and JB.

FloralBunting · 31/07/2018 17:53

You know, when I was very little I heard the word 'flasher', and I picked up the cultural references to old Macs, and 'dirty old men', but I never actually connected it to the idea of a man with an erection, masturbating. I think I had this thought in my head of an old man, naked under a raincoat, opening it dramatically to reveal flaccid wobbliness and then running away.

When I discovered what this kind of predatory exhibitionism actually was, it squicked me out good and proper. And obviously now it outrages me and propels me to protect my daughters from this kind of thing.

The idea that any TRA thinks the general public is going to be swayed by any right on grooviness about accepting kinks is testament to how far detached they are from reality.
