On This Morning now talking to the doctor who got sacked this week.

Don't have a T.V. or buy newspapers. May I ask why the Doctor got sacked?

I don't understand the significance of these comments. Most of us get out news via the Internet surely. We have a TV which I never switch on and I've not bought an actual newspaper on decades. I'm still mostly aware of what's going on, trump and put in, trapped Thai boys, poisonings in Amesbury, World Cup.
Or do trans happenings make it onto TV more than they get reported on the Internet for some odd reason?

He didn't come across very well actually. Bit of a bumbly fool, eyes downcast, looked very uncomfortable to be there.

Monroe trotted out the false suicide stats, called him a bigot and said the above about not forcing his christian beliefs onto others. Which I found ironic.

Trouble is Munroe is media savvy, whereas the Doctor isn't.

I hate the way Monroe shouts over everyone.

Ah - another Christian thrown to the lions.

I wish they would get their reasoning right. Referring to their belief or the bible on its own does not gain any sympathy these days. The days when we all did sunday school, and scripture lessons at school have long passed.

They are just firing blanks (in terms of firearms/ammunition analogies )

I don't think there are any heroes in this story, I'm afraid. Munroe is being as horrible as usual. The doctor, though, was in a position where courtesy, as much as anything else, could have led him to use people's preferred names and pronouns.
Anyway, I don't like it when people present the gender-critical viewpoint as being a matter of Christianity. The Christians of my acquaintance are rather enthusiastically LGBT-friendly, for one thing, and they would argue that homophobia has very little scriptural justification. (Yes, I know I'm conflating two things.)
The other thing is that both Christianity and transgenderism are positions of faith, whereas the gender-critical viewpoint as generally discussed here tends to be about a reluctance to believe anything unless there's evidence to back it up.

I doubt the doctor had much awareness of how the interview might go.

He could have asserted the fact that of course he took good care of his patients.

Established the scientific basis for understanding sex.

Added that as a Christian he additionally could not agree to tell a lie.

Explained the ways in which Christians and people of other faith have practised medicine for many years within established ethical guidelines.

Raised his concerns about the very recent changes in society with regards understanding gender with specific reference to children.

Monroe Bergdorf has a great deal of experience and talent for media. She is very familiar with the arguments and isues.

I suspect the Dr is not.

It also highlighted the massive issue which is the way that different people use the word gender!
