Are there any 'famous' supporters apart from Alison Moyet and Graham Linehan

Alison Moyet and Graham Linehan are the only two I've seen standing up for women in the current 'debate' between women and TRAs.

So, for example regarding women's rights and abortion laws, we had Caitlin Moran, Grace Dent Sharon Horgan etc. Publicly speaking up.

Having not been tuned in to the beginning of this, I wonder if I have missed the presence of any other well known public figures speaking out against misogony, who may help draw attention to the issue.

I know there are several courageous academics who are in the public eye, but I wonder when/if those in the media will step forward.

We all know Stephen's Fry's viewpoint sadly. I disagree with his opinions wholeheartedly, but he has voiced them now and I wonder who else will air their views next.

I can see the

Lord Seb Coe in another with a sports background but also currently a university Chancellor. I think he was in favour of dropping the acceptable level of testosterone in female athletes.

TheBiologicalWoman · 13/07/2018 23:44

I hadn't factored in all the sports people actually. There could be some allies there.

I’d seriously love Frankie Boyle to wade in as GC on this one.

I think if he was on side he could peak trans most of the population in about 10 seconds.

Money talks. Sad

Bespin · 14/07/2018 02:08

is that the Alison Moyet who said trans woman are women.

UglyCathKidstonBag · 14/07/2018 02:30

Bespin I would love your input on this thread

Guessing Alison changed her mind when the misogonyists attacked her and stuck a derogatory pre-fix to her biological sex.

The fact she publically refused that forced pre-fix and exercsised her rights as a woman to call bullshit, gave exposure to the issue.

If that made just one of her many supporters sit up, then I have hope.

Caitlin Moran is a fervent Corbyn supporter and judging by her writing, not intelligent enough to grasp the contradictions and absurdities of trans ideology. Also, she wants to make a lot of money, judging by how she’s hawking herself round the place.

UglyCathKidstonBag

sorry just seen this was a little drunk. last night that other thread the consept is bullshit I dislike it when we appropriate things we don't have do people taking hrt get hormonal mood swings totally is a period no.

NanaNoodleman · 14/07/2018 07:54

Rod Liddle is unsurprisingly critical - more surprisingly, seems to be a friend/ally of Julie Bindel.
Bundle of contradictions, is rod

R0wantrees · 14/07/2018 07:58

I take HRT (the R is significant) and do not get 'hormonal mood swings'.

Only if I forget to get a repeat prescription / leave it at home when I am away and do not take the medication for a few days.

Women have been taking HRT for many years, I haven't seen papers discussing this apparent side effect apart from whilst finding the appropropriate dosage or method for taking it.

Do you have evidence for this Bespin , I would be interested in it?

Pratchet · 14/07/2018 08:19

There’s a horrendous individual on Twitter at the moment who has posted photos of the children of GC women from Facebook. Lots of pp have reported them to Twitter but nothing has been done about it

What the actual fuck

Pratchet · 14/07/2018 08:21

I have just found manic squirrel

Pratchet · 14/07/2018 08:24

They are getting off on the increased traffic to their twitter account. Disgusting. Thanks for the alert.

Pratchet · 14/07/2018 08:26

HRT fixes mood swings. It's not HRT, it's CHT and that will have adverse effects, maybe mood swings is one of then.

Bespin · 14/07/2018 08:31

R0wantrees sorry yes I was more talking about factors around timing and missing doses to its a bugger when ya do that or like the other day when the chemist messed up my script. we like. you should be fairly constent on them though the patches can provide little dips in dose levels as they are not always as effective

Bespin · 14/07/2018 08:33

Pratchet sorry some idiot is doing that will have a look and report. thanks for. letting us know

R0wantrees · 14/07/2018 08:36

Well then Bespin it is not the HRT causing mood swings it is the effect of not taking medication as prescribed or the consequences of a delivery system such as patches.
This is common with most medications that are intended to be taken regularly.

cf insulin and diabetics.

Pratchet · 14/07/2018 08:37

That's great that you will report it. Targeted harassment, threats.

WiseUpJanetWeiss · 14/07/2018 08:41

R0wan, I think Bespin actually agrees with you!

Bespin · 14/07/2018 08:43

Pratchet I am happy to condemn and report actions like that. Its what I asked people to do when someone else was doing it and people justified it.. there is never a justification to this we all need to stop this sort of thing there are poeple that take things too far.

R0wantrees · 14/07/2018 08:44

WiseUpJanetWeiss

Bespin has acknowledged the issue with their previous post.

Bespin · 14/07/2018 08:45

WiseUpJanetWeiss I know wonders will never cease. I'm sure norms relations will be restored soon lol.
