What's wrong with fighting for the third space?

DJLippy · 09/07/2018 22:22

Can't we resolve all these Trans vs feminist issues with a third space option?

Male/Female as well as unisex intimate spaces
Unisex for those who do not mind (or don't want to wait ages for the bog!) But M/F spaces respect those who have religious reasons for intimate spaces away from the opposite sex and also people who need these spaces because of trauma.

Prison's for transgender folk who feel threatened in male spaces.
Nobody should be at risk from sexual violence

Domestic violence and rape crisis support services for transwomen.
Don't trans folk deserve specialist services? If I was a victim of assault I would want people who understood me to provide support

This is all I want and I am sure many women on this sight feel the same. Is this a valid working compromise?

If all these FTM are so very comfortable in men's spaces, why aren't the convicted ones clamouring to be moved to male prisons?

If more women than men make serious suicide attempts but more men succeed, what's the reason?

Why do MTF think they'll be safer in women's spaces?

Why don't women want any male people, including MTF, in their spaces?

The answer to these - and about a million other - questions is male violence.

So why don't you stop lecturing women about what they should or shouldn't do or say, DadJoke, and go and lecture men about their violent ways? We women spent decades of blood and guts building some spaces that protect us from male violence. They're ours. They're nothing to do with you and you aren't qualified to lecture us about what we should do with them.

(Sorry, ChattyLion, cross post.)

Pratchet · 11/07/2018 09:06

Dadjoke went away in that other thread after being caught out and shown wanting. Do you remember what that was about, dad.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 11/07/2018 09:07

Can you remind me pratchet?

LangCleg · 11/07/2018 09:11

Oh, do tell!

Ereshkigal · 11/07/2018 09:12

Alternative Definitions of Woman I think. I was going to remind him he'd promised to come back and respond.

Ereshkigal · 11/07/2018 09:13

Hahaha it actually was Buck Angel. I said this on another thread yesterday.

Pratchet · 11/07/2018 09:15

Somebody had him on a spike about something. There was a lot of word salad and pomposity then he just buggered off. I wish I could remember! But the feeling remains of someone who is at the novice end of things, expects an easy win (because we are women obvs) and gets his arse handed.

THIS. We're not interested in your views on women's spaces Dad, they are not your concern.

Pretty sure it was the one I mentioned when the pomo was wheeled out by a number of posters, regular and new. I'll post a link.

Pratchet · 11/07/2018 09:17

Yes Eresh I think it was. I think you had him cornered. You were definitely there.

Buck angel as an example doesn't really solve the "not knowing what genitals people have - omg look at this passing transman" conundrum though does it - the world has seen Buck's vagina.

Pratchet · 11/07/2018 09:22

I know, even I recognise Buck and it's a fairly nondescript look

Snappity · 11/07/2018 09:23

Why do men post pictures of male looking trans people as if it's an 'aha!'

Because if any rules come in about using the bathroom associated with what gc feminists call birth sex, people looking like that will be in the ladies and I for one want to avoid that.

You have a choice - trans women or trans men. But don't for one moment think that you can exclude both because that is never going to happen.

Pratchet · 11/07/2018 09:24

Also that middle pic is, I believe, Tod whitworth, who is gender critical and believes women have the right to spaces segregated by sex

Ereshkigal · 11/07/2018 09:24

He's been dying to wheel out that gotcha since I told him it was a derail yesterday.

Pratchet · 11/07/2018 09:24

Why would they be in the ladies?

Ereshkigal · 11/07/2018 09:25

I choose female people.

ChattyLion · 11/07/2018 09:26

X post Lang
I think the one advantage of the people coming on here spouting utter bollocks day after day is its making me more careful to look up stats etc and make sure that my arguments have evidence behind them. I’m sure i’m not the only one.

Which will eventually leave the brave and stunning feelz brigade and their handmaidens looking a bit like a bunch of self-centred manipulative dicks. I genuinely think the general population aren’t yet sick of evidence and facts, the evidence of their own eyes and their own experiences. Flowers

Oh yes.

Pratchet · 11/07/2018 09:28

Why can't they use the men's? I don't get this. Men have been gloating for years about the fact that some of them can disguise themselves sufficiently to enter women's spaces undetected, and there's fuck all we can do about it.

They argue that because of this, we should pity all the men who are unable sufficiently to disguise themselves, and let them in too, under self id.

We say no to that. We have never been able to do anything about the ones who can make themselves look enough like women. There are very few of them but there's nothing we can do about it.

Yes, it is. American person and went from liberal to conservative (as they say there) solely because of pomo-addled authoritarian leftism and genderism. Not a Follower of Genderism:
