People are afraid of gangs and gangsters like these, Bespin. How can you not know that?
Did it never occur to you that they are on their phones calling the police?

SpareRibFem · 27/06/2018 00:19

Bespin I'm not the timid sort but I would hesitate to intervene in a fight with such violent assailants that are clearly much stronger and bigger than me.

Recording the fight provides evidence that can be used in a prosecution

Pratchet · 27/06/2018 00:22

I would have filmed. Guys that size and that violentveoiod knick m unconscious in ten seconds.

Picassospaintbrush · 27/06/2018 00:23

Where the fuck is Snappity, surely by now we should have been told we are not recognising the problems by saying this is less than ideal biology?

Just published:

'Government scraps proposed women's 'community prisons' in new strategy to reduce female offending'
(extracts)
The government has scrapped proposals to create “community prisons” for women as part of a delayed strategy aiming to combat female offending.

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) had pledged to build and open five new facilities by the end of 2020, claiming they would allow women to be detained closer to home and maintain family links, but met widespread opposition.

The new strategy is moving “emphasis from custody to the community” and trying to bring the female prison population down. “We want to ensure that the public and judiciary have confidence in non-custodial sentences – such as effective community orders – which directly tackle the causes of reoffending, including alcohol or drug abuse,” said the MoJ.... (continues)

"The government cited statistics showing almost 60 per cent of female offenders have experienced domestic abuse – an estimated 24 to 31 per cent have dependent children and those in jail or on probation are more than twice as likely to suffer mental health issues as men.

Almost half of all female prisoners in England and Wales say they committed their offence to support the drug use of someone else, the Ministry of Justice said, while many more are substance abusers themselves.... (continues)

They were actually STOMPING on him. I mean, who does that?

It rather calls to mind a song previously discussed here, in which there was a call for T€R£$ to be curb stomped...

This is an article written about an altercation at the trans inclusive San Francisco Dyke March when a few women who were protesting about transgernderism were threatened and attacked by the crowd.

DARVO in action folks..."

extract from the article cited:
"The TERFs claim they were pushed down — other eyewitnesses say that the TERFs tripped on their own feet in the ensuing altercation after shoving those chanting “hey hey, ho ho, transphobia’s got to go”."

LassWiADelicateAir · 27/06/2018 00:34

There were people trying to intervene and good on them - they were brave and also foolhardy. There was no shame in not trying to stop it beyond screaming /shouting/phoning.

seafret · 27/06/2018 00:38

To rather stubbornly stick to the drum that I am banging...!!! Wink

The 'technical guide' seems to say that is ^does" go by sex by default, but then titles the tables gender conflating the two, but then reading down further, its clear that due to "the range of recording practises" throughout the system really no one actually knows what is identity or sex so its all a bloody irresponsible mess :(

the technical guide says:

"'Sex' can be considered to refer to whether someone is male or female based on their physiology, with ‘gender’ representing a social construct or sense of self that takes a wider range of forms. Throughout this report we refer to sex rather than gender, because the binary classification better reflects how individuals are generally reported or managed through the CJS. For example, prisons are either male or
female institutions, with prisoners normally placed based on their legally recognised gender. However, given the range of recording practises (see technical guide for details) throughout the CJS, it is likely that most recording includes a mixture of physiological and personal identity. (Similarly, we refer to females / males and women / men interchangeably in this report, as a reflection of the binary classification in use.) my bold
Individuals with an unknown or not stated sex are not included in the analysis, because it is impossible to tell where they should be counted. High levels of missing sex data would be of concern, both in terms of sample sizes and the risk of systematic bias. To allow users to assess the confidence they have in the data we are using, levels of missing or unreported sex data are reported throughout."

Dereliction of duty springs to my mind and not giving enough of a fuck. Its very difficult to unpick it all.

On topic... The attackers were so bloody persistent too. Not even a wild frenzy and over, but consistently coming back to give more. It really looked like they were tyring to finish him off :(

It is absolutely sickening. It is also incorrect to say no one did anything - quite a few people did.

OlennasWimple · 27/06/2018 00:55

tripped on their own feet

Or walked into the door frame. You know how clumsy us women can be

Picassospaintbrush · 27/06/2018 00:58

We do something Lass, but when confronted with out of control narcissistic rage, doing something means you are taking your own life into your hands.

We have created a culture where extreme narcissistic expression has to be indulged.

This is not healthy or acceptable.

The full extent of the muddling of sex and gender is only just coming to light.
See WPUK's recent comment re the number of LAs whose Equality and Diversity policies were identified as being legally incorrect. Many have acknowledged the mistake and corrected but this seems likely to be the tip of the iceberg with regards statuatory organisations and services.

LassWiADelicateAir · 27/06/2018 01:04

I always think there is something morally ambiguous in filming something like that but I suppose it may well be a fair option if it's all caught as evidence.

And I suppose even just filming it potentially puts you in danger.

seafret · 27/06/2018 01:31

Thank you R0wanTrees was just reading your brilliant info on the other threads.

Much to consider

OlennasWimple · 27/06/2018 01:32

even just filming it potentially puts you in danger.

Especially on a narrow tube platform - there's not really anywhere to go other than onto the tracks

Happy to help, I remember how long it took for me to get my head around things. I mostly c&p others' brilliant info!

Picassospaintbrush · 27/06/2018 01:46

Lass, I read your posts. You are a woman with an experience, a partner in a law firm in Scotland, a female that never felt held back.

It makes me think you might be a member of my own clan.

ChattyLion · 27/06/2018 07:19

Alexa so sorry that happened to you. Flowers
Bewilderness thanks for always speaking up for women in your posts on FWR. I have learnt a lot from your posts, over a long time. Flowers

Why couldn't they just say 'people'? It is so offensive to my sex to call them women. Angry

Make no mistake - that is what this group of [people we don't currently have a mutually acceptable term for] would do to non-compliant women, as well as men they don't like.

When people tell you who are they: believe them.

DickTERFin · 27/06/2018 10:48

what i found this time is what is going on around this act of violance, people chant fight, fight, people get there phones out and others comment on the fight.

I think what you will find if you look/listen again is that men are chanting “fight, fight, fight” whilst a group of men beat the ever living shit out of another man. Men, collectively behaving like animals.

There are women there, putting themselves in personal danger by placing their bodies between the perps and the victim. And if you think that they were in no danger because they were not the focus of the groups fury, take another look. The perp in the white dress throws the perp in the black dress backwards so that they can get a run up to stomp on the man again - if they’ll do that to each other then everyone was at risk of getting a wallop. In fact police and rail staff were assaulted by these thugs.

I’ve jumped in to stop an 18yr old male kicking my 11yr old brothers head in (long story) and whilst for me in that moment, there was no other choice, I distinctly remember the terror and thinking “fuck, im going to get it now” as I looked into that mans eyes and saw his fury. I knew I was going to get a beating and there was nothing I could do about it but hope someone bigger and stronger would rescue us (I didn’t get hit as it happened but only because another guy dragged him away because they heard a police siren). I don’t judge others for not stepping in, one punch from a large male can kill - people have a right to prioritize their physical safety and hats off to those brave souls that did step in.
