Apologies for the source, it's from the daily fail. However, if true it's definitely a victory worth celebrating!!

Did they get deleted ballsballsballs?

Not that I want them to be deleted,I want both sides to be able to clearly state their position so the true nature of the debate is clear.

Maryzsnewaccount · 25/06/2018 21:13

I doubt they were deleted.

It's ok by the new rules to not only say TWAW but to say TWA biological women, natal women, 100% female, born with female biology etc etc.

Complete lies are allowed here, as long no-one has their feelings hurt Hmm. Apart from women of course, who don't seem to count.

BabyItsAWildWorld · 25/06/2018 21:24

@MNHQ can you clarify please:

can people say trans women are women?

can people say trans women are men?

If one is acceptable, and one not, can you please explain why.

It's impossible to look at deletions and try to work this out, it needs clearly stating please.

Waddlelikeapenguin · 25/06/2018 21:24

I want the Equality Act amended so that it's a duty, not a right, of organisations to retain single sex provision.
This.

BeyondFemaleElitist · 25/06/2018 21:27

Pft, but some women have their bartholin gland removed, what about them? Huh? Huh? Huh? Huh? Huh? Huh? Huh? Huh? Huh?

BeyondFemaleElitist · 25/06/2018 21:27

Glands. Plural.

haXXor · 25/06/2018 21:48

I'm happy for the criteria to be "current or former possession of Bartholin's glands".

BabyItsAWildWorld · 25/06/2018 21:53

"current or former possession of Bartholin's glands"

Nailed it. We have the new official definition of women.

(But might there be a some women somewhere who were born without Bartholin glands, who TRAs will be really really worried about upsetting if we use this definition? )

If there are then all rights for half the human population must be repealed to validate the exception.

RogerAllamsFangirl · 25/06/2018 22:33

Of or denoting the sex that posseses Bartholin glands?

Sadly, this is such a sweeping generalisation as to be unworkable in practice.

I also wonder if we couldn't shorten it somehow. Maybe even down to a single word. I can't think of one though. Barthglanders?

Maryzsnewaccount · 25/06/2018 22:35

What about "a woman is a human who identifies as a current or former Bartholin gland haver"?

That's catchy, isn't it. HWIAACOFBGH.

Waddlelikeapenguin · 25/06/2018 22:41

Grin Maryz have you considered a career in advertising? you clearly have a gift for slogans

NaturalBornWoman · 25/06/2018 22:42

It might be triggering for women who are prone to bartholins cysts though-although to be fair they are likely to be able to woman up and get over it, being a bartholin gland possessor tends to do that to you..

mammyoftwo · 25/06/2018 23:03

Gender identity Vs Safe-guarding

Thanks to the pp who has mentioned this, it's a helpful way for me of expressing my concerns (in context of priority, I believe protecting females takes precedence over not offending people with penises, particularly in supposedly female-only environments.

Barthglanders

Yes. It works.

pombear · 25/06/2018 23:25

Late and tired to the debate on this thread, which seems to have veered, as usual, of original starting point

But if we're having to debate others here on whether people qualify for a sex category on whether or not they've had bits removed/weren't there in the first place, despite owning other indicators that you belong to that sex category (apart from an ephemeral 'feeling') how on earth can you have any sex category?

And if there's no sex segregated spaces and services because you can't define any category....that means there's no specific categories for people to 'transition' into to.

Somehow, I suspect the people fighting hardest to enter other people's spaces wouldn't like this very much. Just one 'human blob space' wouldn't make them happy! Would probably frustrate them! as every, every post highlights how much they want to enter other people's spaces, regardless of safety, dignity, other people's comfort.

"No,sorry, you have no special status, we're all just human blobs"

(This is lighthearted - as always there are spaces and rights some human blobs, who are female, need separate from other human blobs, male, because of history, biology, etc. The reasons for which are in no way lighthearted, sadly).

littlbrowndog · 25/06/2018 23:44

The blobbers wit the special thingie cyst thing will not pass

littlbrowndog · 25/06/2018 23:45

Into our spaces

pombear · 25/06/2018 23:48

I know littlbrowndog - if that was reference to 'other people's spaces'.

Just keeping within the vague guidance that those who have us under their eye are policing!

But blobbers are just blobbers - everything is the same as everything else, apparently! (Hence why you can't transition from one thing to another if everything means nothing).

(Typing the last sentence made me realise, once again, just where this shit has got us!)

And that we're not taking it :-)

Snappity · 26/06/2018 01:17

current or former possession of Bartholin's glands
Nailed it. We have the new official definition of women

And there you have it. The opposing definition of woman which, in practical terms, is as impossible to check as brain sex. So why not just accept that if you want to know whether someone is a woman, just ask her?

thebewilderness · 26/06/2018 01:20

You are embarrassing yourself, Snappity.

BettyFloop · 26/06/2018 01:29

I feel a bit embarrassed on Snappity's behalf actually TBW.

What a tremendous faux pas....

ErrolTheDragon · 26/06/2018 01:38

Is this like the logic puzzle with the two guards, one of whom tells the truth and the other who lies and you don't know which is which?

ErrolTheDragon · 26/06/2018 01:42

Only more complicated...

Some people tell the truth
Some people knowingly lie
Some people genuinely believe they're telling the truth (not liars)but are mistaken (not telling the truth).

I don't think that's a soluble logic puzzle, so evidence of veracity is necessary.
