If you can't win them over with facts then baffle them with bullshit, basically.

PermissionToSpeakSir · 24/06/2018 22:10

We try to see the world as binary male and female. Mostly it works well but sex is more complex than that.

Hahahahahahahahah Grin hahahahaha

So when you were conceived snappity how many sexes were involved?

Were you cloned from one parent?

Was there a strange act involving a third person?

Maybe there was a combination of human gametes and some other species fusing to make you?

Was there something different from the conception of every other human who has ever lived created from the binary of male and female gametes uniting.?

Or are you just making utter shit up?

BeyondFemaleElitist · 24/06/2018 22:11

What Lang eloquently said Grin

This board makes me laugh. The women here are so articulate and can swear like navvies - love it!

AngryAttackKittens · 24/06/2018 22:17

We try to see cats and dogs as being separate species, but both generally have 4 paws and a tail so it's more complex than that.

How bizarre. Of all the ways to classify people, doing so by sex is definitely one of the most straight forward. 1 of 2 options.

spontaneousgiventime · 24/06/2018 22:20

Sex:

Male
Female

End!

Popchyk · 24/06/2018 22:21

That Times article really has rattled cages, hasn't it?

It is like some sort of bizarre word salad on here.

Sex is absolute. No. Wait. Spectrum. Hawaii. Cheese. Elitism. Radiator.

At least Leon was funny. I laughed at how he reported the social media hounders of his two transgender children to "50 on his burner phone". Or was it his private detectives who involved the cops? Can't remember now.

PeakPants · 24/06/2018 22:21

Argentina is in South America. But what of The Maldives or The Seychelles. Nowhere near as easy - Asia and Africa as it happens even though in holiday brochures they seem very similar.

I recommend a world atlas and/or an encyclopedia.

AngryAttackKittens · 24/06/2018 22:23

I think what we should take away from this is that sex is Hawaii, and also elitist.

Kettlepotblackagain · 24/06/2018 22:25

Sex is not binary, because light switches and cushions, chairs, broccoli and petrol stations, hairbrushes maybe, but carpets? Maybe dogs. Not sand. Crisps.

ErrolTheDragon · 24/06/2018 22:26

There are 10 types of sex. (That's binary.)

@AngryAttackKittens Are you saying I’m supposed to be PAID for all this?! Flipping heck, I need to write some angry letters... Might not have the £ for stamps though as I’m spending an absolute fortune on train fares and buying entry to places that kick me straight out again... Angry emails it shall have to be! Thanks for the tip-off!

spontaneousgiventime · 24/06/2018 22:28

I dispute there are only 10 types of sex. My hubby and I found many other ways. Halo

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 24/06/2018 22:29

Moving away from the EA and protection of women's spaces, I found this interesting in the times article:

Mordaunt has signalled she is not yet persuaded that people should be allowed to select their gender without requiring a formal medical diagnosis of “gender dysphoria

There has been a few folk saying how ridiculous it is having a story about laws not changing, but I find it interesting that it sounds as if Mordaunt is cautious about changing the GRA to allow self-ID...

Hopefully this might be the beginning of a row back on the desirability of self-ID? Hopefully the beginning of people realising potential negative impacts? Perhaps even looking at the GRA and EA and strengthening protection for women? Or am I being overly optimistic Blush

Gosh!

Ministers commit to preserving sex-based exemptions
AngryAttackKittens · 24/06/2018 22:31

Wait, if sex is Hawaii then where do incels live?

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 24/06/2018 22:31

Snappity, word to the wise. Don't tell women on a parenting site that sex is Hawaii, spectrum, whatevs. Plays havoc with our pelvic floors.

spontaneousgiventime · 24/06/2018 22:33

Wait, if sex is Hawaii then where do incels live?

Miles away from me I hope!

LangCleg · 24/06/2018 22:34

(I suddenly realise I got my fucking thread fucking mixed up just up there a bit. Fucking sorry. Can I do more fucking posts? I like saying fucking, what with being a mature matron time and fucking all.)

AngryAttackKittens · 24/06/2018 22:35

The pelvic floor is a social construct, obviously, and also a spectrum. Possibly a packet of crisps.

ErrolTheDragon · 24/06/2018 22:36

I think people should be totally free to select their 'gender' ...aren't there 70+ options on some websites? It's sex that matters. You can't self-ID into a different sex, and it's sex based separate provisions which need defending.

For goodness sakes The Times should be more accurate in its terminology and not conflate the two.

spontaneousgiventime · 24/06/2018 22:36

LangCleg & AngryAttackKittens My pelvic floor just fell off due to laughing at you two.
