I know it's hard to tell how mixed up you feel
Hoping what you need is behind every door
Each time you get hurt, I don't want you to change
Because everyone has hopes, you're human after all
The feeling sometimes, wishing you were someone else
Feeling as though you never belong
This feeling is not sadness, this feeling is not joy
I truly understand. Please, don't cry now

Please don't go, I want you to stay
I'm begging you please, please don't leave here
I don't want you to hate
For all the hurt that you feel
The world is just illusion, trying to change you

The thread is one of many the MRA toll has posted tonight while you were all asleep and I was reporting my fingers to the bone. I expect they will delete and ban him in the next few days.

I'm dying here and I needed a good laugh! Let's enjoy this one...

TransplantsArePlants · 21/06/2018 05:22

Yes

Ignore the Elephant in the Room

Battleax · 21/06/2018 05:23

like you woke up to, rather than from, a nightmare

That’s what I’m hoping Grin

TransplantsArePlants · 21/06/2018 05:25

I'm so in love with you
I'll be forever blue
That you give me no reason
Why you're making me work so hard

SoaringSwallow · 21/06/2018 05:27

I hope this thread isn't deleted. The first two posts are basically the essence of the so called debate. Only it's not, because you can't debate with utter nonsense!

GeorgeFayne · 21/06/2018 05:29

OMG, YES.

I was so devastated when I learned that Andy Bell probably wasn't interested in being my boyfriend.

GeorgeFayne · 21/06/2018 05:31

Ah, but we debate with utter nonsense every day. Men are women. Biological sex can be changed. Lady penises are all the rage. You know, fun and progressive and enlightened stuff like that!

Mine is Ship Of Fools. Obvs.

GeorgeFayne · 21/06/2018 05:36

@thebewilderness
I'm always reading/posting in the middle of your night and you're awake. I worry about you. Do you get enough sleep?Flowers

Don’t you join in 😏

GeorgeFayne · 21/06/2018 05:42

Transplants

Definitely A Little Respect.

GeorgeFayne · 21/06/2018 05:45

Oh the subject of Erasure, has anyone here read the book Female Erasure?

DancelikeEmmaGoldman · 21/06/2018 05:45

TransplantsArePlants is clearly the MN ee cummings, while blackdoggotmytongueagain is taking up the Dylan Thomas mantle. It reminds of John Clarkes wonderful book "The Tournament".

TransplantsArePlants · 21/06/2018 05:51

Dance

Why thank you. I am unfamiliar with his oeuvre (sp?)

But I just googled and went all goose pimply at 'I carry your heart with me" so i guess I must be.

My favourite poet is Gerard Manley Hopkins. Master of alliteration. Not everyone's cup of tea.

Binsey Poplars
BY GERARD MANLEY HOPKINS
felled 1879

My aspens dear, whose airy cages quelled,
Quelled or quenched in leaves the leaping sun,
All felled, felled, are all felled;
Of a fresh and following folded rank
Not spared, not one
That dandled a sandalled
Shadow that swam or sank
On meadow & river & wind-wandering weed-winding bank.

O if we but knew what we do
When we delve or hew —
Hack and rack the growing green!
Since country is so tender
To touch, her being só slender,
That, like this sleek and seeing ball
But a prick will make no eye at all,
Where we, even where we mean
To mend her we end her,
When we hew or delve:
After-comers cannot guess the beauty been.
Ten or twelve, only ten or twelve
Strokes of havoc unselve
The sweet especial scene,
Rural scene, a rural scene,
Sweet especial rural scene.

DancelikeEmmaGoldman · 21/06/2018 05:54

TransplantsArePlants, I love Hopkins. The Windhover is one of my very favourite poems. :-)

TransplantsArePlants · 21/06/2018 05:59
Smile

I studied him at A level. My English teacher was such a quaint-seeming lady. A 'spinster' (Ugh) who just lit up when talking about the poets and authors she loved. RIP Miss Connelly

MorbidMuch · 21/06/2018 05:59

I clicked on this post
Expecting a fiery rant
Not a nonsense poem

thebewilderness · 21/06/2018 06:02

No, GeorgeFayne, I don't get enough sleep.
I am very bad at sleeping. Very kind of you to be concerned but there is no help for it but surgery I refuse to submit to.
However, the difference in our timing is because I am currently in the Pacific Time Zone, eight hours behind you, so when you are getting up at six or seven or eight I am just toddling off to bed with my book.

Anti trans? Is that women who recognise biological sex? k...

EmpressOfSpartacus · 21/06/2018 06:34

From the great Rachel Irischild:

and we grow

o, misogyny is just frightful
but you know what's so delightful?
that women are saying 'no.'
and we grow, and we grow, and we grow

we're showing no signs of stoppin'
'cause the penny's really droppin'
we're shaking off every blow
and we grow, and we grow, and we grow

when we finally put this right
how you'll hate that the truth is the norm
but as women take up this fight
sisterhood's keeping us warm

and despite how hard you're tryin'
your dogma's slowly dyin
and since we've no place to go
well, we grow, and we grow, and we grow
