I know it's hard to tell how mixed up you feel
Hoping what you need is behind every door
Each time you get hurt, I don't want you to change
Because everyone has hopes, you're human after all
The feeling sometimes, wishing you were someone else
Feeling as though you never belong
This feeling is not sadness, this feeling is not joy
I truly understand. Please, don't cry now

Please don't go, I want you to stay
I'm begging you please, please don't leave here
I don't want you to hate
For all the hurt that you feel
The world is just illusion, trying to change you

Fuzzy Wuzzy was a bear
Fuzzyy Wuzzy had no hair
Fuzzy Wuzzy wasn't fuzzy Wuzzy he.

Great lyrics,
just amazing!

AsAProfessionalFekko · 21/06/2018 10:25

Ode to a pelican
Whose beak can hold more than his belly can
I wonder how the hell he can?

ijustwannadance · 21/06/2018 10:29

We are not anti trans, just anti bullshit.

Sciencelogic · 21/06/2018 10:31

Fuzzy Wuzzy was a bear
Fuzzyy Wuzzy had no hair

Now then, did any of you notice the errant 'Y' ?
How on earth did that happen Grin

On a dark and stormy night, two cats sat by the fire. One called Dick, the other called Tom. Said Dick to Tom I'll tell you a story. And so the story began. In the words of a revered philosopher which describes my journey to the gender critical side

“I used to bite my tongue and hold my breath
Scared to rock the boat and make a mess
So I sat quietly, agreed politely
I guess that I forgot I had a choice
I let you push me past the breaking point
I stood for nothing, so I fell for everything”

Kettlepotblackagain · 21/06/2018 10:33

I know I haven't been here long but I really think I'm in love with all of you GrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

BarrackerBarmer · 21/06/2018 10:33

We are not supposed to notice an errant Y Sciencelogic as well you know.

Chromosomes are bigots.

BarrackerBarmer · 21/06/2018 10:38

Juells

"And think we'll be hood winked"

Yep - where I went with the emphasis - but you can definitely add an 'all' in there if you prefer the way it scans like that

Juells · 21/06/2018 10:39

These things are very very important to consider.

Theinconstantgardener · 21/06/2018 10:43

Barracker
Grin

Sciencelogic · 21/06/2018 10:45

The Errant 'Y's were a rubbish band, they did covers of lousy, cheesy tunes.
They were always played in a constant loop in the lifts at Uni. A bit like the endless xmas tunes in shops.
Nightmare

Theinconstantgardener · 21/06/2018 10:46

Magpiesarehuge
And a female philosopher too!!

madja · 21/06/2018 10:49

GrinGrin Brilliant!
But i'm not anti Trans, I'm pro women. Different surely.

CharlieParley · 21/06/2018 10:52

Also missing the point of this thread, but I once had to spend a whole term writing poetry.

I am a misery poet and I found myself unable to write poetry while happy. Nothing helped until I discovered Wendy Cope. And this thread made me think of this poem:

‘The Uncertainty of the Poet’ by Wendy Cope

I am a poet.
I am very fond of bananas.

I am bananas.
I am very fond of a poet.

I am a poet of bananas.
I am very fond.

A fond poet of ‘I am, I am’ –
Very bananas.

Fond of ‘Am I bananas?
Am I?’ – a very poet.

Bananas of a poet!
Am I fond? Am I very?

Poet bananas! I am.
I am fond of a ‘very’.

I am of very fond bananas.
Am I a poet?

Datun · 21/06/2018 10:54

having your rights as a woman erased is so draining Isn’t it..?

Dorothy Parker would definitely have said that!

Bowlofbabelfish · 21/06/2018 10:55

Was she the one who said that her morning routine was brushing her teeth and sharpening her tongue?

I can get with that Grin

Datun · 21/06/2018 10:55

Popchyk

Your comic writing is quite brilliant. I'm hoping you do it for living?

BesmirchingMotherhood · 21/06/2018 10:58

Couple of decent covers on there too; "It's Raining Redacted" by The Weather Redactors is particularly good.

Omg, I’m crying. 😂

UpstartCrow · 21/06/2018 11:00

You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I’ll rise.

From 'And Still I Rise' by Maya Angelou

WeAreGerbil · 21/06/2018 11:03

Barracker genius 😂

Sciencelogic · 21/06/2018 11:06

On a dark and stormy night
Genius opening line, so profound Grin

This poem is from my autograph book when I was at primary school,

The night was dark and stormy
The toilet light was dim
I heard a crash
And then a splash....

Ready for your own pertinent punchline, yay!

BeyondSceptical · 21/06/2018 11:16

The teacher stands in front of the class
But the lesson plan he can't recall
The student's eyes don't perceive the lies
Bouncing off every fucking wall
His composure is well kept
I guess he fears playing the fool
The complacent students sit
And listen to some of that bullshit that he learned in school

To expose and close the doors on those who try
To strangle and mangle the truth
Cause the circle of hatred continues unless we react
We gotta take the power back!

ElenOfTheWays · 21/06/2018 11:33

So, is anti trans like anti matter?

What happens when the trans meets the anti trans?

The end of the universe?

Bowlofbabelfish · 21/06/2018 11:34

They obliterate each other in a small cloud of logic...
