Time to get the 'L' out!

Facebook just killed another Women's Liberation page (I did not follow it), upon the pressure placed by another page/group called 'Queer Librarian'.

The Women's Liberation Radio News page got targeted because they reported on Baltimore Pride, where a number of lesbians held WL signs. The WLRN page also reported that prior to the event, the Baltimore Transgender Alliance stated "terfs will be hung by their necks". This reporting of BTA by WLRN, incited the Queer Librarian page to gather ranks and report the WLRN page. (You will get the drift by looking at the screengrabs).

Lesbians are no longer welcome at Pride(!) and clearly, anyone that reports what is going on is targeted and banned.

I find it sad that on thread about lesbian women at a Pride march receiving threats of violence for holding placards directly related to being lesbian women, the conversation seems to be centered around the appropriateness of lesbian women at a Pride march having slogans directly related to being lesbian women, and not about the threats of violence.

Daimbars, please don't misrepresent what I said. Lesbians are biologically female homosexuals.

CircleSquareCircleSquare · 18/06/2018 17:23

Why does that poster call you a liar @daimbars? @JuzzaL?

Is there a reason a GC poster might disagree with how you are categorised?

A Baltimore Pride group advertised they were going to lynch women to celebrate.
I am guessing this is in retaliation for them having to take down the posts advocating violence against women.

Ereshkigal · 18/06/2018 17:36

I don't believe the lynching comment was ever said. If it was, why is there no screen shot?

I haven't clicked through but I think Pencils has already posted. If not I have one Daim, it's on my other phone.

@Prawnofthepatriarchy are you happy that I call myself a lesbian? Seeing as I'm a biological female married to another biological female.

@CircleSquareCircleSquare I have no idea why @JuzzaL Feels like she knows my sexual orientation better than me but for some reason she thinks she does.

It's fair enough to have a debate and challenge me on whether trans women in a relationship with each other should call themselves lesbians. Why make it personal and challenge my own sexuality? It's very personal and very distasteful.

CircleSquareCircleSquare · 18/06/2018 17:50

Are you a trans woman @daimbars?

SomeDyke · 18/06/2018 17:51

Yeah, note the 'we are terribly inclusive' rhetoric, whilst not being wheelchair accessible and threatening to hang TERFs.............

So, that would be not accessible and threatening violence against women, is the new (trans)inclusive then...............Or perhaps they think an event is inclusive and accessible if it identifies as such........................

SomeDyke · 18/06/2018 17:56

"Two biological females in a relationship with each other.

It isn't homosexual if one of you is bisexual. "

I'm confused! Used to be that two females in a relationship was a homosexual relationship. If either or both also had relationships with males those (could be?) labelled heterosexual, since the label is for the mix of sexes in the relationship being referred to, which is different to the sexual orientation of the individual participants?

Although if two females wanted to call their relationship a bisexual relationship since they both were bisexual, that would be logical too. A lesbian in a relationship with a bisexual female, surely she gets to call her relationship a lesbian relationship if she wants to?

I'll go and draw a Venn diagram or such I guess...................

daimbars · 18/06/2018 17:58

That screen shot isn't from the Transgender Alliance? It's a Facebook event created by an individual for a LGBT club night called Queer Qrush.

Yes that last joke was not in particularly good taste but you are really scraping the barrel if that is your 'evidence' of trans people inciting violence on lesbians! Confused

daimbars · 18/06/2018 18:01

@CircleSquareCircleSquare I'm a biological, natal female assigned female at birth and so is my wife. Neither of us are attracted to men. Even posted my civil partnership on another thread! Apparently not good enough.

CircleSquareCircleSquare · 18/06/2018 18:06

Thanks for the clarification @daimbars.

Gay men are starting to come under attack for "discriminatory dating preferences:

I find this article somewhat alarming - talk of "the 1 percent" has echoes of incel-style language.

Twitter user complaining that their trans status has reduced the amount of interest they get on Grindr

My ugly status would reduce the amount of interest I would get on dating apps, should I divorce my partner.

BettyDuMonde · 18/06/2018 18:19

The forum data lounge has had a number of posts complaining about the numbers of cervix-havers on hook up apps such as Grindr.

BettyDuMonde · 18/06/2018 18:23

(I’d post links but it’s a very NSFW site!)

It isn't homosexual if one of you is bisexual

I'm probably going to regret asking this, but do you believe anyone is a lesbian if they have previously had relationships with men? Does any contact with cock put them into the bisexual box? And then that negate any same sex relationship they have as "not lesbian" regardless of their partner's penis touching status?

That is interesting. I wonder if men will be allowed the ‘no’ that women are denied?
