I am not using any "tactics" at all. After the Mumsnet HQ statement, I thought I would engage. After I condemned the tweet, I still heard calls to condemn. Possibly, the "feminism chat" threads are not places where I can be heard.
Most people don't care. I was pleased with the latest The Big Questions programme, because most of the audience were on the trans side; but even after all the propaganda in the Times and the Mail, most people can't see what the fuss is about. If the English consultation had gone ahead when the Scots one did, there would be far less anger around the issue now. It's promised for July, now, they tell me.
Some people are trans. It is our way of escaping the gendered expectations we perceive on us. Making transition more difficult won't help anyone challenge gendered expectations. Making it easier subverts those gendered expectations, and they may fall away.
