I am a woman.

I was a girl.

I am an adult human female.

Something a man can never be.

I am a woman.

People refer to me has her and she.

Sometimes said with deep contempt and misogyny.

I am a woman.

Something a male will never be.

I have a vagina and uterus.

I menstruate and have given birth.

I am a mother.

Something a male will never be.

I have been insulted, assaulted, belittled, dismissed, held back, intimidated, stereotyped, terrorised, mocked, shamed, humiliated because I am a woman.

Something a male can never be.

I feel insulted, appropriated, offended, anxious, tense, depressed, hurt and under siege, when a male claims to be a woman or anyone says a male can be female.

It is not civil or respectful to treat me this way.

I am a woman.

I am Spartacus.

That said, it’s clear that most trans people find the use of pronouns or names that they or others have consciously rejected, to be hurtful and would therefore struggle to engage in a discussion with those who insist on using them.

More to the point they, transgender advocates, view any woman who disagrees with them in any way to be an act of rejection and deeply hurtful. How you gonna babysit that MN?

Where is that mumsnet post please? So I can read the whole thing plus context if possible.

thebewilderness · 13/06/2018 20:12

Indefatigable, me.
Adorable you!

Theblueplanet · 13/06/2018 20:13

I am Spartacus. A person cannot change their sex.

The only thing that comforts me about all this in that everyone I talk to IRL about this feels the same way as I do.

Keep talking, it's important people hear our voices.

averylongtimeasspartacus · 13/06/2018 20:13

I am a woman, a mother, grandmother, a daughter.
Because of my biology.

I was abused as a teenager by a man, because of my biology.

I don't hate trans people, live and let live I say. If dressing and presenting in a stereotypical way that differs from your birth sex makes you happy, then go for it.
But respect has to work both ways.

I won't lie. All the makeup, dresses drugs and surgery in the world cannot change xy into xx, because of biology.

I am still Spartacus.

ItWillAllBeOkayInTheEnd · 13/06/2018 20:14

Sex not gender

HornyTortoise · 13/06/2018 20:16

OK found it now

For anyone else, incase they are as clueless as me Grin

Hyppolyta · 13/06/2018 20:18

I am female.

I was a girl, and grew into a woman.

No male can ever experience that.

I am Spartacus, and I will not tell lies

AngryAttackKittens · 13/06/2018 20:32

Always Spartacus, because reality doesn't change just because not everyone likes it.

What's happened now? Deleted thread? This one looks like swiss cheese.

LangCleg · 13/06/2018 20:33

Adorable you!

Backatcha!

TerfsUp · 13/06/2018 20:33

I am Spartacus.

Yes. Second Spartacus of the day.

As I'm sure you're realising, it's all going swimmingly!

Aridane · 13/06/2018 20:35

I am a well man. I am not Spartacus.

Aridane · 13/06/2018 20:35

Oh FFS. I am a woman, not a well man

okMaybeIAmATERF · 13/06/2018 20:38

I'm still Soartacus, but - @MNHQ nota bene - not the kind that will jump through whatever hoops you set and however you move them. This is the first time I've logged in for weeks; I've kept looking back for the "new moderation policy" announcement. Now that we have it, doubt I'm going to be helping your figures much more. There are other ways to spend time and other places to talk. And at the end of the day, humans still won't be able to change sex, and women will still be important.

franke · 13/06/2018 20:39

I'm just so tired of this. And so disappointed. I am Spartacus.

StopPOP · 13/06/2018 20:43

I am most definitely SPARTACUS.

BingTheButterflySlayer · 13/06/2018 20:47

Biology just IS biology. You can't erase it with badly created internet memes, you can't erase it with internet bully, and you can't erase it by spending your teenage years drawing little moustaches and smiley face on all the pictures of sperm in your biology textbook (or was that just my misspent youth?)

I've also been raped, sexually harassed, beaten up in a violent relationship, discriminated against in the workplace and suffered birth injuries... those bits of female lived experience no one seems particularly keen to appropriate for some strange reason.

Flooffloof · 13/06/2018 20:50

Always Spartacus.
Such a shame I seem unable to convince rl people, still i Spartacus on.

UghFletcher · 13/06/2018 21:00

I am Spartacus

OddBoots · 13/06/2018 21:00

I'd be interested in seeing if MN have any suggested terms to describe trans people without forcing people to describe them as the sex they are not.

ChickenMe · 13/06/2018 21:02

Spartacus
No one in real life believes humans can change sex
