I am a woman.

I was a girl.

I am an adult human female.

Something a man can never be.

I am a woman.

People refer to me has her and she.

Sometimes said with deep contempt and misogyny.

I am a woman.

Something a male will never be.

I have a vagina and uterus.

I menstruate and have given birth.

I am a mother.

Something a male will never be.

I have been insulted, assaulted, belittled, dismissed, held back, intimidated, stereotyped, terrorised, mocked, shamed, humiliated because I am a woman.

Something a male can never be.

I feel insulted, appropriated, offended, anxious, tense, depressed, hurt and under siege, when a male claims to be a woman or anyone says a male can be female.

It is not civil or respectful to treat me this way.

I am a woman.

I am Spartacus.

If you die your hair blonde from brunette, are you still brunette?
Of course you are, good grief. You're also letting yourself in for a lifetime of time consuming and expensive upkeep. And no-one who sees you in real life is fooled.

TerfsUp
Maybe we need a crumble meet up. We can compare and do lady things, as befits our gender/sex/whatever.

I've a suggestion for what to do with the oats but I fear I would be moderated....

BesmirchingMotherhood · 18/06/2018 11:23

Still totes infertile, still the only people that have tried telling me I’m not a woman because of it have been trans.

MrsMc; granola. Add some maple syrup, chic chips, banana, raisins or whatever takes your fancy and toast in oven or bung in actifry if you have one.

AngryAttackKittens · 18/06/2018 11:24

So, now that Ghost has filled up half the thread with various very silly arguments we probably need a new Spartacus thread, right?

AngryAttackKittens · 18/06/2018 11:24

How large a sack are we talking, exactly? You could make crumble for the whole neighborhood!

ToeToToe · 18/06/2018 11:25

If Ghost's repeated attempts to drag infertile women into a very silly argument are making any women here feel insulted and targeted then they should most definitely report.

I agree - it's pretty despicable to insinuate that a) infertile women are not women, or that b) any gender critical women have ever said this.

Ereshkigal · 18/06/2018 11:26

Thanks Madja! I will keep an eye out for coconut sugar.

BesmirchingMotherhood · 18/06/2018 11:27

professional, I’m all for letting Ghost’s mis-sexing of Women Like Us stand so lurkers can see the shit they spout but they are completely breaking talk guidelines so do report it if it’s upsetting you.

And Flowers and 🤛

GhostTess · 18/06/2018 11:27

ProfessionalBarren

I've made no claims those things are equivalent. Only that the prevailing definition of the other people in this thread seems to be that female and woman does not include you.

I'm sorry you feel that it was me that did this instead of the ones defining it.

CertainHalfDesertedStreets · 18/06/2018 11:27

I hope I'm still infertile because it's going to fucking wreck my skiing holiday next year if it turns out I'm not.

terryleather · 18/06/2018 11:27

Ok it's the nuclear option to clear the thread, stand by everyone!!!!

I am S p a r t a c u s
waterlego6064 · 18/06/2018 11:27

Well then since as defined by you sex role is defined by physical characteristics then once again infertile women are not women. By your definition.

What does the word ‘infertile’mean, Ghost? It means that there is some abnormality or disorder of the person’s sexual reproductive function, yes?
Which tells you that sex (not gender) is absolutely about a person’s potential reproductive ability.

A woman who once had a uterus and has had it removed is still a woman (we can tell because she used to have a uterus). A woman who cannot produce eggs (from her ovaries) is still a woman. A woman who cannot carry a pregnancy to term in her uterus is still a woman.

This must be awful reading for those with fertility problems. I’m sorry you are having to be roped into this argument. 💐

I am Spartacus.

ProfessionalBarren · 18/06/2018 11:27

You're right, thanks. I've reported it.

AngryAttackKittens · 18/06/2018 11:28

Terry, that's just pure unadulterated evil.

CertainHalfDesertedStreets · 18/06/2018 11:28

It was you that did it. You did it again and again and again after you had been told how offensive it was.

Own your behaviour like a grown up!

ProfessionalBarren · 18/06/2018 11:29

And it was you GhostTess. No one else on here has ever suggested what you were proposing. Ever.

CertainHalfDesertedStreets · 18/06/2018 11:30

This must be awful reading for those with fertility problems. I’m sorry you are having to be roped into this argument.

Honestly it's fine. You didn't bring it up. And some of us can stand to hear the truth. Grin

terryleather · 18/06/2018 11:30

Sorry Angry but sometimes we have to destroy to create........

terryleather · 18/06/2018 11:31

And I'm still Spartacus.

Eating rhubarb crumble.

LangCleg · 18/06/2018 11:31

WEETABIX.

Take that, suckers.

KittiesInsane · 18/06/2018 11:32

Ghostie, dear, I have spent years raising teenage boys. Autistic teenage boys at that. I recognise the style of 'Ha! Logicked you! Bet you never thought of THAT reason why you're wrong and I should TOTALLY be allowed to have a quad bike in the shed even if there isn't room and you can't afford one.'

Please, stop this earnest attempt to redefine words. You don't want to be a male, clearly. But woman is a term that does have a generally understood meaning. It's like trying to patent 'a biological mechanism for bipedal motion' and then arguing with anyone who already knows how to walk.

CertainHalfDesertedStreets · 18/06/2018 11:32

I am Spartacus. For 1000.

NotBadConsidering · 18/06/2018 11:33

I am Spartacus!!!!!!!
