Dr Adrian Harrop, who the funk does he think he is?

If you're not familiar with this supposed physician (yes, really), then you need to get over to Twitter and see this.

Harrop seems to spend most of his time harassing and insulting natal women whilst unquestionably supporting trans women. He is hiding behind his "medical expertise" and using it to shout women down.

It's both hilarious and terrifying! Shock

Most GP partnerships contain some women and female GPs tend to believe in biology. I think the power of twitter has gone to his head and he isn't thinking enough about how he comes across to women who might be contemplating working with him. He is exploiting his "doctor" status on his pic and in his title to try and get extra credibility but I think this will come back to bite him on the bum if future potential partners look at social media.
He is behaving more like a drunk teenager than a professional man. he comes across as self important, nasty, patronising, intolerant and misogynistic.

wow! i hope it gains traction and damages his image (as mean as that sounds) referring to death threats as a valuable lesson.

He has re-tweeted a few anti-MN posts now

Can't help but think this might be an own goal on his part if the result is to send more traffic this way... Wink

SandyDrawsBadly I think I actually love you.

It must take excellent artistry skills to make them look so sinister.

( ^Joke. They look far more sinister in real life. )

To misquote the marvellous Linda Smith, I'm not keen on this chap getting the oxygen of oxygen, let alone the oxygen of publicity, so after reading one tweet of his I try to stay away from him.

he's just a noisy little man on twitter, he doesn't have any real influence.

Sandy I think you have to change your name to "Sandy draws rather well and does uncannily accurate caricatures..."

He seems to have taken Sandy's picture in surprisingly light-hearted way. I thought he would throw a tantrum!

This 12 yo thing.

Saying that objecting to 12yo girls being married off (euphemism for raped) is colonial nonsense.

What he means, really

Is that the idea that 12yo girls are actual whole people who deserve to be afforded human rights, and not just sex / work / breeding objects

Is a recent / "western" phenomenon

And who is to say which view is right? Maybe the correct view is that 12yo girls are sex and work and breeding objects, not full people, and not worthy of human rights

This is a debate he believes is worth having, because, he thinks that there is merit in that view of 12 yo girls.

You can think for yourself why he and dr christian feel that there is a worthwhile debate there.

You see. They only see things from a male perspective. What do men want? In X country they want to "marry" 12yo girls. So, let's talk.

Like the watching porn in schools thing. I saw that on the telly. Was going on about it at my husband.

Vast majority of porn is highly msogynistic, it depicts men "doing stuff" to young women, and it's all about the man, most does not even pretend that the woman is enjoying it, it's a display of sexual domination. What will it say to a class full of boys and girls, making them sit down to watch that together? The boys and girls in a classroom setting, watching young women get essentially abused on screen?

The women on the panel were ???

He said (or another bloke, can't remember) that it would be really good as the teacher could have a conversation with the boys and reassure them about their penis size. Yes becasue obviously that's the most important thing. ALL about males, their view, their experience, woman and girls as objects, 2D, not real, supporting actors in the male lead's story.

He clearly hasn’t learnt anything yet.

He loves to tell women to "learn" from the experience of being villified, threatened with violence, subjected to malicious reports to the police, doesn't he?

Now let me think for a moment what sort of man likes to "school" women in that way?

Oh yes, a great big fat raving misogynist, that's the sort of man I'm thinking of.

I wonder if he reads The New Statesman?

Glosswitch's recent article there is worth a read and pertinent to talk of 'covens' etc.
(extract)
"It’s a problem that’s never gone away, though the context has changed. Anxiety over women’s speech – fuelling violent backlash in the form of witch trials and scold’s bridles – arose at a time when, to quote Marina Warner, “women dominated the webs of information and power; the neighbourhood, the village, the well, the washing place, the shops, the stalls, the street were their arena of influence, not only the household”

He used that phrasing to Posie deliberately. He's loving winding people up and getting the attention. He doesn't care what women think so he doesn't care what he looks like.

He will when people start complaining about him to the GMC. Let’s hope there are quite a few women on its committee dealing with complaints.
