Thanks Ally I hadn't been able to make any sense out the info earlier, as I hadn't realised the trans identified man was the one who had the chromosome disorder. I heard him say he hadn't ever had a problem as he 'passed' - I think he used that term.

Yes, they definitely used the term 'pass'. From this link:

It seems they have Klinefelter syndrome so are XXY which I understand is generally classed as an intersex condition (although happy to be corrected on this as I am no expert).

Off to gulag mr Katz

LangCleg · 07/05/2018 17:44

Does Birds Eye advertise on C4?

Asking for a friend.

MadBadDaddy · 07/05/2018 17:46

"some TRAs will get annoyed"

SarahCarer · 07/05/2018 18:03

@Jezza12 if that was aimed at me my comment was not "I am gender critical but..." It was "I am gender critical therefore..." Others have made good points about individualistic gender variance that throws others under the bus. I agree with those too. I'm here for the dialogue. How about you?

2rebecca · 07/05/2018 18:06

Love the Daily Mail comment
"As an LGBT champion I think this could potentially be very educative."

And the reply

" "LGBT champion?" You mean they hold competitions now?"

People with Kiinefelters are male. It is a disorder of sex development but they have male genitalia and potentially can father children.

I'm going to watch this to see if there is anyone I can relate to so I can find out what my own gender identity is now that biological sex is irrelevant and you have to link your personality to the sex (read gender identity) marker on your birth certificate and passport. I think I'm either gender fluid or non-binary, but I don't really know the difference between the two terms. All the definitions that have been given to me so far suggest that every single person I know is a gender fluid person, so it'll be interesting to find out why society isn't just using "they/them" pronouns for everyone.

Greymisty · 07/05/2018 20:00

Dietcoke: I'm either gender fluid, non binary or gender neutral....Its weird to think i come under the transgender umbrella. No idea about the difference between the three terms.

SarahCarer · 07/05/2018 20:11

Oh ha! Sorry Juzza. I think of all Corbyn fans as female so not so much with the misgendering Wink

SarahCarer · 07/05/2018 20:19

I actually find it helpful to identify as GNC with my woke genderist friends because otherwise they don't listen because they can't see past the word bigot written all over my forehead. I do actually think I would fall into that category.

Greymisty · 07/05/2018 20:32

Isn't there your gender identy and then your gender expression and those two things don't have to match up? I remember seeing a infogram somewhere about it....I think that might have been the thing that made me gender critical....it just got waaaay to complicated and label focused.

leyat · 07/05/2018 20:41

Female socialisation is a reference to the feminine gender as a social system of stereotypes and norms that is coercively imposed on women because we are female in order to subjugate us by and for the benefit of men, and yes, no men experience this, and no, it is not the same as a man trying to be nice. And anyone who has a clue about what it is to be a woman knows that fighting our socialisation - which is actual gender non-conformity btw - is something we get punished for that in many ways under a male supremacist society, and again, this punishment we get for challenging the gender norms imposed on us as women is something no man can experience.

AfterSchoolWorry · 07/05/2018 21:01

Here we go. Hmm

AfterSchoolWorry · 07/05/2018 21:03

I'll need subtitles for this.

GaraMedouar · 07/05/2018 21:08

Ok - watching now....

SarahCarer · 07/05/2018 21:08

Yep good description of female socialisation leyat. Men are also socialised to perform masculinity which enforces the same structures.

NotTerfNorCis · 07/05/2018 21:08

Two women, one 'non-binary' and one 'gender-fluid'. Looking forward to finding out what this means. Not wanting to wear dresses all the time? Confused

SarahCarer · 07/05/2018 21:10

But not everyone is affected by socialisation in the same way.

cistersofterfy · 07/05/2018 21:10

Am watching. Think it'll be interesting.

spontaneousgiventime · 07/05/2018 21:11

I'm going to watch through you lot, I don't think I would have a television left if I actually watched it.
