WidowWadwam while I agree with some of your points around misgender and deadnaming, the point around anatomy is the fundamental part of the conversation around self ID. It's about whether people with vaginas are comfortable with allowing people with penises into their spaces. Its about the violence perpetrated by penis holders against others. Essentially it's about male violence. As a rape survivor, the thought of being in a space with a penis holder, against my will and without my consent, is exceedingly worrying. Rather than pitching Trans against 'terfs' we should be uniting to address the underlying issue of male violence so that everyone can feel safe, regardless of their gender. I wish Shon would come and engage in the debate rather than just trying to shut it down. Maybe then we could all understand the viewpoints a little better.
