I've just been thinking about that first moment that a male crosses women's boundaries (in any of the thousands of ways they do it) - what are their emotions?
Do they feel conflicted?
Is there a sense of hesitation because they are aware of the profound disrespect they are about to enact?
Or do they have a head full of 'I want I want I want' that drowns out any potential conscience?
It is extremely troubling that a generation of males has been and is being raised without even the taboo-ingrained respectful behaviours of being 'gentlemanly'.
Taboos like 'don't hit girls' especially 'don't hit grannies'
Or 'don't go into women's spaces'
Don't stand by and watch a man attack a woman.
Those things.
