I'd forgotten about the 23 yo. Maybe they're too busy with Fortnite.

Weebo · 03/05/2018 00:56

Sorry, I wasn't telling anyone off. Blush

I just didn't want Ama's posts deleted.

spontaneousgiventime · 03/05/2018 01:00

SF has obviously cleaned up their TL so it's ready for inspection. It's open again.

leyat · 03/05/2018 01:02

@FlyingBird you have to tell MNHQ about that, this is exactly what they are encouraging in their new policy, it is a form of doxxing and it is totally unacceptable. Their policy has literally led to a pregnant woman getting the most hateful of posts, and getting doxxed, in less than 24 hours. This was soooooo foreseeable. What on earth where MNHQ thinking....

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 03/05/2018 01:03

I caught a few earlier. Needs to be more careful, our Shon

VanGoghsDog · 03/05/2018 01:04

Oh, hello Shon, you must have been missing me on Twitter, since you blocked me waves.

Amalfimamma · 03/05/2018 01:05

The 23 year old must be back on

The screenshotting of comments here (often out of context) was already happening.
Due to mass 'terf' blocks, it's likely that a lot of women concerned about conflicting rights would not be aware of how they were being used and even if they could see them, would not be able to make much of a comment without being blocked again.
The wider issue, I think, is with Twitter.

WanderinWomb · 03/05/2018 01:08

Tru , the ball was not dropped. It was given away. to be thrown back hard into the faces of women here.

I said it in the site stuff thread too ,MNHQ seem completely blind to the online climate for women.

VanGoghsDog · 03/05/2018 01:08

Yes, I run two accounts. One never posts and follows few people. My main one gets blocked all the time. The other one I use to grab screen shots of Tweets then use my main one to paste them and comment on. There's loads my main account never sees.

Amalfimamma · 03/05/2018 01:09

Shon, his account and tweets this evening

Oh good lord. I've just had a look at that mumsnet transphobia account.

Taking screenshots of comments on here that most people would consider entirely rational, and holding them up as an example of transphobia is going to backfire.

You only have to look at the BTL comments on any national newspaper to see how the ordinary person in the street thinks the whole thing is ridiculous.

Granted, it's a little irritating that the numerous 'oh no, not more of this. For gods sake stop shoving it down our throats' comments don't fully grasp the implications.

But saying that stating biology is transphobic, is absolutely going to ignite the touchpaper with the general public, who are already fed up with hearing about it.

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 03/05/2018 01:18

Well I have been blocked from twitter for 7 days for tweeting "Heresy - burn the witch" in as you might imagine, an ironic post.

Was previously banned for 30 Days for tweeting that pic of Lila Perry with a semi erection under 'Lila's' skirt (look look MN, I'm being good!). Then loverly Lila demanded and got access to the female changing rooms.

But actually, it's far more fun just watching the accounts in the 'nude' and screenshotting them for posterity.

There are people observing what happens online over time.
The two people interviewed on Woman's Hour last Friday had been following Incel social media for six months or more.

www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b09zt3qq

This week Alek Minassian was arrested and accused of killing 10 people in Toronto when he drove his van into them. Just before the attack, he posted praise on social media for the 'incel rebellion' - an online community of men united by their inability to convince women to have sex with them. The incel rebellion is just one of a number of men's rights groups that have been accused of vulgar sexism, under the umbrella collective of the 'manosphere'. We hear from Mike Wendling an assistant editor at BBC Trending, and Ruby Lott-Lavigna an online journalist who's spent time undercover exploring the manosphere and the people behind it.

VanGoghsDog · 03/05/2018 01:26

I got chucked off Facebook the other day and forced to re read the posting terms before being let back, for "hate speech" for calling a man a man. And it was in a private group!
The reporter (another tra who has been all over the press) blocked me. They unblocked me yesterday, oddly, so I promptly blocked them. But, there wasn't a person in that group who supported their version and the person who runs the group pm'd me to apologise.

DarthArts · 03/05/2018 01:27

@Daxleo

Have pm'd

thebewilderness · 03/05/2018 01:41

Years ago when I read that 80% of those who presented with body dysphoria were co-morbid with NPD I was somewhat taken aback and skeptical. It has been interesting to see that borne out through subsequent years of interaction.

DarthArts · 03/05/2018 02:55

Not exactly sure what the point is wrt the choice of headline picture.
