MNHQ Deletion Policy

TheUterati · 30/04/2018 17:03

Earlier today the Trans Park Run thread was deleted in its entirety because SOME posts alleging cheating were deemed to be 'not in the spirit' of MN.

We have a thread about that running.

I have just been deleted on the Heather Peto thread for posting this:

"Bless..."

A post intended to be mildly dismissive.

That was deleted for breaking talk guidelines.

Give me a fucking break MNHQ.

"Bless..." gets a deletion!??!?!

TRA really have got you on a short chain, haven't they?

What you're saying there, Cady, is that women (and it is only women) are not allowed to be rude, and only to one specific category of people. And that if women insist on being rude then it's perfectly reasonable that they not be allowed to speak at all.

Do you really not see how that might get people's backs up, in a feminist space?

"Rude" is not a crime.

CadyHeron · 01/05/2018 01:51

Point out where someone did that on this thread. Go on.

Well, I can't,can I, as that sort of stuff got deleted. As it's not OK.

Ereshkigal · 01/05/2018 01:53

No one said it.

AnitaLovesVictor · 01/05/2018 01:56

MNHQ - all your deletions are playing into the hands of the authoritarian "you can't say that" brigade. Now we're being accused of saying stuff that hasn't been said on this thread - because it's "been deleted."

MNHQ just admitted to deleting a post saying "bless" fgs - and said that was heavy handed - the deletions on this thread are equally ridiculous. One was a dictionary definition of the word "woman".

thebewilderness · 01/05/2018 01:57

Clearly saying "Bless" was horrible transphobic and deleting it saved us all from the horrors of being exposed to transphobia and gave you the ability to claim that all deleted posts are transphobic.

I feel dirty after reading some of these gaslighting deceitful slime balls rolling down the hill at us. Like Red I need to take a break cuz the flashbacks are nasty.

Ereshkigal · 01/05/2018 01:58

There aren't all that many deletions on this thread actually and several are for "Iwillreportalltransphobicposts". How ironic.

AnitaLovesVictor · 01/05/2018 01:59

Have you any idea how many times I've been offended here, on MN?

Stuff posted about sahm vs wohm for example. Offensive stuff on both sides. Whichever side you're on - that sort of criticism goes to the very core of a woman's identity. Why is that ok, but not what is said about gender identity?

Being offended is not an excuse to silence women and stifle debate.

RefuseToDenounceBiology · 01/05/2018 02:02

What if they have had surgery but don't have a GRC? Or have a GRC but don't look anything like a woman?

Exactly 'no true transwoman' and 'yuk - are you going to start looking at peoples genitals'...

Don't go there.

thebewilderness · 01/05/2018 02:05

We need to talk about Cady calling the transexuals who comment here transphobic by Cady's definition of transphobia. I am not prepared to let that pass.

RefuseToDenounceBiology · 01/05/2018 02:08

Same here - when people talk about being 'judgy' about mums I want to throw my laptop across the room. I am deeply offended by people spending their time being judgemental about mothers who are probably struggling and making the best of things, doing a hugely complicated job, without training or a manual in a hostile environment without a day off for sickness and with chronic sleep deprivation. The lack of compassion sickens me.

AnitaLovesVictor · 01/05/2018 02:09

Seems to me offending women is just fine - offending men is not, offending men who identify as women - definitely not.

How did we get here? Why are people allowed to say the most unspeakable things about women, but not men? We are being gaslighted - to put up with our boundaries being crossed in all sorts of ways - but we mustn't speak about it.

CadyHeron · 01/05/2018 02:12

I haven't said transexuals on here are transphobic at all. Totally making stuff up now! How would I even know who is transexual on here and who isn't? The only one I do is truscum and I actually said great points, thanks for sharing, I want to hear all voices.

RefuseToDenounceBiology · 01/05/2018 02:12

My guess is that it is orchestrated and deliberate. With a bit of male entitlement and handmaidening thrown in to ease the way.

This.

Ereshkigal · 01/05/2018 02:14

I haven't said transexuals on here are transphobic at all.

Some of them would be transphobic by your definition. Including Tru.

RefuseToDenounceBiology · 01/05/2018 02:14

I want to hear all voices.

Apart from people who say transwomen are male - like tru

CadyHeron · 01/05/2018 02:16

I have said transwomen are biologically male. I've never said differently.

thebewilderness · 01/05/2018 02:17

Your definition of what is transphobia includes Miranda Yardley as well as tru and several others here who are transexual and yet do not share your beliefs. You would know who they are if you read their posts as they have been quite open about it.

Ereshkigal · 01/05/2018 02:17

You have. You said they were female and it was transphobic not to recognise them as such.

Ereshkigal · 01/05/2018 02:19

^That is what transphobic means though. Refusing to accept fully transitioned, full surgery, properly living as a woman for years as female and denying they exist and carry on saying they're male/a bloke.
If you can't see that, you're going to keep on getting deleted.^

That's one post you made, Cady

CadyHeron · 01/05/2018 02:19

Ereshigal - nowhere have I said that that were biologically female. You really seem unable to grasp the difference.

RefuseToDenounceBiology · 01/05/2018 02:19

I've never said differently.

You've said it is transphobic to either say they are male or to not acknowledge something about them that you haven't yet defined its still transphobic though

Ereshkigal · 01/05/2018 02:19

Read your own post.

thebewilderness · 01/05/2018 02:21

Cady, please accept this Newt Gengruch award for playing the "Anyone who quotes me is lying" card.

AnitaLovesVictor · 01/05/2018 02:28

You said it on the now deleted Parkrun thread too, Cady. I'm sorry, but I remember what people have posted when I argue with them on a thread.

I bet you were tickled pink when that thread was deleted. You posted a fair bit of stuff that was demonstrably false on that thread. All that discussion on women's sports - at all levels - just gone. Just like that. Well done.
