Earlier today the Trans Park Run thread was deleted in its entirety because SOME posts alleging cheating were deemed to be 'not in the spirit' of MN.

We have a thread about that running.

I have just been deleted on the Heather Peto thread for posting this:

A post intended to be mildly dismissive.

That was deleted for breaking talk guidelines.

Give me a fucking break MNHQ.

I'm about ready to say bye, honestly. Not because of the TRA attempts at intimidation, that's par for the course and entirely to be expected, but because of the way MNHQ is treating its users, some of whom have been here for years.

Blatant authoritarian behavior that's obviously causing at least one user serious distress in this thread and HQ comes down on the side of allowing that to continue while scolding users about not having walked on enough eggshells.

Well you are completely agreeing with someone who missed my point.

I think people of an authoritarian persuasion whether they believe in religion, fairies, whatever, should be screened out - particular care should be taken to screen out anti-feminists and misogynists since MN is a largely female membership and is a particular target (- eg - taking out full-page adverts in national newspapers to slander MN and swatting the CEO, that kind of thing).

I'm totally in favour of free speech where not inciting actual violence. I've reported about 10 posts in 5 or so years on Mumsnet.

I'm also not in favour of "trigger warning" culture and I think it's been appropriated. Despite being a person who has suffered panic attacks from reading about "trigger incidents" I don't expect people to consider my feelings in this, because it's not their problem.

But the coercive control transactivists exercise is definitely, were I so inclined to call it so, a "trigger" and reminds me of my abusive coercive controlling relationships. It really hurts when other people enable the gaslighting. Yet these feelings, apparently, don't matter,

Also while I am here. @mnhq @justineMN Flowers Because I don't think you're out to piss anyone off but dealing with probably quite a lot of shit and don't need any more. My impression is that Justine doesn't actually agree with the gender critical stance (based on previous posts) but doing her best to give us a place to speak which I appreciate greatly. We aren't owed one, it is a business and her business is under attack.

Much bigger companies have already given in to this bullshit.
