Just come across this horrific phrase in the context of the Canadian attacks. I’ve always thought I was relatively aware but this completely passed me by.

Does anyone have any background resources they can share on the phrase/“movement”? Not sure I can face some of the murkier sites my first searches found.

These MRA incel men, and the TRAs who demand Lesbians date males who identify as lesbians to prove they are not bigots, are the men who taught me the 2nd rule of misogyny: Women saying no to men is a hate crime.

Saw earlier that the Toronto deaths could have been prevented apparently, by a government girlfriend scheme. Yes, a girl for every man, supplied by the government.

It is nuts Cwenthryth. And the disgusting way that they talk about women is not reserved only for the women who refuse to have sex with them. It often includes abuse directed at the parents as well- either for not procuring a sex object for them, for not 'showing them' how sex was done, for not having sex with them or for bringing them into this world only for them to never have sex.

Why are they so sex obsessed? It is really sad and disgusting.

Just had a read of some of the stuff they're proposing, mass rapes, acid attacks etc. This stuff is absolutely horrifying.

It's really terrible.

But the scary thing is that their parents probably think they are 'good boys'.

They don't go out drinking wildly, cause trouble, bring girls home or do drugs. The truth is very, very different.

All the more reason to always keep an eye on internet activity.

I think it was originally a sub for female incels but it's been largely overrun by displaced male incels who don't respect that a female incel could or would exist.

There's a thread on twitter by @ArshyMann about this, linking to the links posted. One comment stood out - Incels have an ideology & the goal is to terrorize women

I think it was Posie Parker at the WNTT meeting who said something similar.

The position of the MRA is that a segment of the female population must be set aside for their use, prostituted women, or they will rape indiscriminately, not just the prostituted but any and all women. This has been their negotiating position for thousands of years.

There are a number of online destinations where incels gather and are radicalized. /pol/ on 4chan. r/incels on Reddit was popular before it was shutdown. They moved to r/braincels, but it's not as widely used. Also SlutHate, the forum where Elliot Rodger posted (formerly PUAHate)

Interesting isn't it, how a forum set up to whinge about how PUA (Pick Up Artists) tactics were stupid/didn't work and where disillusioned raging young men like Rodger posted, has now turned its hatred primarily on the women that fall for these manipulative tactics and sleep with those men?
