Focus must now be on how this and other similar policies and legislation have come to be constructed It would be interesting to know who advised them. Some of their wording is a bit fishy Wink

I think once the thread is pulled it will become apparent...

Well, I took the opportunity of raising the GG issue with DD this afternoon (granddaughter starting Rainbows today) and....wow! She positively erupted with suppressed GC views. Shock

I'm so proud to have raised a feminist.

I would have thought that, if what the judge said in the case where a child was placed in his father's care after his mother fell heavily into affirmation is any guide, the most appropriate place for a male child that is non gender conforming would be the scouts, where there is the opportunity to work with both boys and girls and the child does not close off the option of socialising as a boy.

Encouraging the GGs to change their policy is about society affirming the identity of transgender male to female persons, and is therefore the political act that the GGs were scornful of, and accused Fair Play for Women of, in their statement this morning.

Looking forward to listening to this later when I am home from work. Although I am tempted to play it here for everyone else to hear too as it sounds like Dr Nic did great.

As Julie Bentley is leaving surely it would be a good idea for Guide leaders to see if this can be reviewed.
