Amy, the architect and hero of ManFriday has been invited on Good Morning Britain this morning. As far as we know the interview will be 7:40am. Please tune in.

I’ll take one for the team and watch from now, updating the thread when I see she comes on Grin as it’s the very least I can do considering she is going up against Piers Morgan and Peter Tatchell.

Good luck to her!

I guess you think it's ok to get people to think of transwomen as a bunch of tosspots

I don't think of Caitlin Jenner as either brave or stunning. I'm not particularly enamoured of wealthy white males who transform into wealthy white trans women, who then proceed to ride roughshod over other women.

Elendon · 19/03/2018 09:14

I was particularly interested to see Jane Fae's rolling eyes during the introduction. Jane does this every time!

OvaHere · 19/03/2018 09:15

Are transwomen the most self absorbed and selfish group of people ever? Is there a reason they simply can not see any other point of view? It's like they're in a permanent toddler phase

Trans is the new puberty, India Willoughby told us this. It makes middle aged former men into 15 year old girls so we have to be patient with them until they reach full womanhood.

Ekphrasis · 19/03/2018 09:15

Only the narcissistic ones. Plenty are utterly lovely. JF I find especially difficult in that I find she uses a number of quite PA, condescending techniques.

Ekphrasis · 19/03/2018 09:17

JF's eye rolling being a particular example of the PA approach.

Reminiscent of a teen....

OvaHere · 19/03/2018 09:20

Was JF knitting? They are the only person I've ever seen who has utilised knitting as a PA defence technique. Grin

Seriously, what actual female commentator would be taken seriously whilst knitting on debate shows? Hmm

Weebo · 19/03/2018 09:21

Was it Jane Fae again?

Seems to be wheeled out for anything remotely trans related recently.

It would be nice to hear from someone new.

Weebo · 19/03/2018 09:22

Was JF knitting?

Please tell me you're joking?

No Weebo JF is known for passive aggressive knitting on TV, often whilst debating Julie Bindel Grin

LangCleg · 19/03/2018 09:24

There are transsexuals and crossdressers. I support transsexuals who separate themselves from crossdressers and trans ideology and do not subscribe to the religious magical thinking of transactivism.

If you want me to support you, I assume a post-SRS transsexual, you will need to separate yourself from the trans ideologues as many transsexuals are doing, including a friend of mine. However, you seem to be in support of them. This means I am not in support of you. And I don't care if you are offended by that.

With regards to this specific assertion - yes, I do see be-penised crossdressing self-ID supporters as a bunch of tosspots.

MammaTJ · 19/03/2018 09:26

I caught it on +1, thanks to this thread.

Jane Fae was not making much sense at all. Amy was fabulous!

PerfPower · 19/03/2018 09:26

I wonder why it's the narcissistic ones that do these appearances? The only transwoman I have seen come across well on tv is Paris Lees (and after reading some of their articles I came to the conclusion that the tv persona is an act). India W, Jane F, Lily M etc. just seem like such an own goal for their cause; aggressive, petulant and defensive.

I do know of lovely transwomen, but I think of them as trans sexual, rather than trans gender.

Weebo · 19/03/2018 09:27

Right, because knitting is what women do.

Jane could mix it up you know. Bake a cake or do some ironing while debating.

swivelchair · 19/03/2018 09:27

Weebo - JF was on a panel with Bindel and Milo. Milo was engaged and polite. JF sat there, knitting, sighing, and generally being unbelievably rude.

It comes to something when Milo has better manners I think.

yetanothertranswoman · 19/03/2018 09:28

Actually, despite a lot of online and real life abuse from certain feminists, I am against Self ID. I have spoken to my MP about it. I am aware that trans voices who are against Self ID are valuable in this fight.

LangCleg · 19/03/2018 09:29

Here's Jane, knitting away:

Weebo · 19/03/2018 09:30

What a gobshite.

LangCleg · 19/03/2018 09:31

Then why are you on here whinging about a campaign that is entirely about self-ID? Go and take issue with the transactivists and contribute yourself instead of nit-picking women in a passive aggressive way.

It's. Not. About. You.

derxa · 19/03/2018 09:33

Sorry I missed this

LostArt · 19/03/2018 09:34

Well done Amy, I'm too very impressed with your balls of steel. Grin

You've got to love a bit of passive aggressive knitting.

"Apologies for interrupting your echo chamber."

Is that what you call women talking?

yetanothertranswoman · 19/03/2018 09:35

It's. Not. About. You

This debate is also relevant to trans people if it makes our lives more difficult and leads to abuse on the streets because people see that interview and decide to take actions into their own hands.

Go and take issue with the transactivists and contribute yourself instead of nit-picking women in a passive aggressive way

Done that as well. They are also good at verbal abuse.

yetanothertranswoman · 19/03/2018 09:37

When someone says that certain points shouldn't be made, then it probably means only one point of view is being heard.

Which I think is an echo chamber?

GabeIsShocking · 19/03/2018 09:37

I don't want you to get abuse. Why don't you do as suggested and use the template feminists used to set up your own refugee. Ask for a fourth space, not men, not women and not disabled to give you dignity and safety when changing and relieving yourself?
