Amy, the architect and hero of ManFriday has been invited on Good Morning Britain this morning. As far as we know the interview will be 7:40am. Please tune in.

I’ll take one for the team and watch from now, updating the thread when I see she comes on Grin as it’s the very least I can do considering she is going up against Piers Morgan and Peter Tatchell.

Good luck to her!

This is so wonderful! Amy, you were brilliant!

More grist to my mill of believing that making them look ridiculous sets them off into a narcissistic rage and they go off and eat themselves, doing our work for us.

Anything that changes the narrative from brave, stunning, to what a bunch of tosspots is a good thing.

Also, if the stupid men get the wrong end of the stick and think Amy was doing it in support of self-ID, what does it matter? It's still made them post to say they disagree with it, which is what we want.

fannyfelcher · 19/03/2018 08:41

I dont have a tv but would love to see this on youtube

Trumpdump · 19/03/2018 08:45

I wonder if we could get Piers to retweet the petition?

WhatInTheWorldIsGoingOn · 19/03/2018 08:45

Just watched it. You were fab. Calm and measured. Well done.

SwearyG · 19/03/2018 08:49

Amy was in there by herself. We didn't swim together, we went to the same pool and swam separately. We were both naked, in the changing room, by ourselves.

Working on getting a video clip.

What's your point Yetanother?

I don't understand what you are saying. And quite frankly, this isn't the thread to make it.

yetanothertranswoman · 19/03/2018 08:53

And quite frankly, this isn't the thread to make it

Apologies for interrupting your echo chamber.

LizzieSiddal · 19/03/2018 08:55

YetAnother. Amy doesn’t need “potential headlines”
She got herself into several national newspapers and onto the most watched Breakfast TV show. She’s doing an amazing job without your suggestions.

womanformallyknownaswoman · 19/03/2018 08:56

Awesome - any video of it?

CurbsideProphet · 19/03/2018 08:56

I just watched on +1. Thank you Amy.

Weebo · 19/03/2018 08:56

Awk, I missed it.

I shall be catching up later though. Well done Amy. Smile

LangCleg · 19/03/2018 08:58

Amy should have gone in there by herself just to experience what it's like being naked in such an environment when you've not got a penis on front of naked men.

Oh, get a grip YetAnother. The campaign is about self-ID and the unwanted penis. It's not about you if you don't have a penis. Not everything is about you. Passive aggressive posts like that one do nothing to persuade women to accept you as an honorary member of their tribe. You know why? They demonstrate male entitlement to take centre stage in everything women do.

#manfriday. Is. Not. About. You.

Willow2017 · 19/03/2018 08:59

I particularly loved the tweet saying that as women have breasts the men would be uncomfortable!
Will nobody think of the mens feelz?

Oh and the other one saying she thinks women are trying to take over everything...ph the irony, I despair.

Well done Amy this highlights the total ridiculousness of the bill. Men getting in uproar over women fighting for their rights, how dare they?

Ekphrasis · 19/03/2018 08:59

I watched bits while son had a tantrum that I wasn't putting milkshake on, stern words afterwards and what I saw I was impressed by. Well done Amy!

Liked the sport being mentioned.

Will try catch up later.

Beerincomechampagnetastes · 19/03/2018 09:00

I thought Amy did brilliantly this morning.
Jane (was it Jane?) got very angry when Amy challenged her and responded very aggressively with body language and I think it wouldn’t have taken long for the mask to fall if prodded a little further.
I’m glad that didn’t happen as I wouldn’t want Amy exposed to Male aggression on anyone’s behalf.
Let’s hope the tide is truly turning and thank you both immensely Gin

Frequency · 19/03/2018 09:02

I'm unsure if I've read your comment right, Yetanother, but if a transwoman has had surgery and no longer has a penis, she is more than welcome in the women's changing rooms. She always has been. It's the ones with the penises we are worried about i.e the predatory men who will take full advantage of self id in order to predate on vulnerable women.

It is happening already, just look at Target in the US after they changed their changing room policy.

Very few people on MN or indeed in wider society want transwomen to feel or be unsafe but their safety does not come above the safety of women, nor can we understand how opening the doors for predatory men to enter women's safe spaces protect transwomen.

yetanothertranswoman · 19/03/2018 09:04

Anything that changes the narrative from brave, stunning, to what a bunch of tosspots is a good thing

I thought this was about predatory men trying to use self ID to get access to female spaces - and not transwomen suffering from gender dysphoria. Still - I guess you think it's ok to get people to think of transwomen as a bunch of tosspots Hmm

Some true colours on here. This is far more than issues about self ID .

Elendon · 19/03/2018 09:04

echo chamber?

How disrespectful and your apology now rings hollow.

LineysEggyName · 19/03/2018 09:06

It's about loss of privacy being a harm in itself.

Elendon · 19/03/2018 09:06

I liked the tweet comparing women baring their breasts in public to men exposing their penis in public. Grin

Izzy24 · 19/03/2018 09:07

Will watch this on catch up.

Any, I am so grateful for your courage.

OvaHere · 19/03/2018 09:09

Not seen the interview but well done Amy!

LangCleg · 19/03/2018 09:10

Oh, diddums. Did I not call you brave and stunning?

I'm here for the women, YetAnother, the women. And the children. And their spaces and services. And their right to boundaries. And their ability to withhold consent. And the safeguarding procedures built up over decades to protect them.

If you insist on being associated with a bunch of be-penised crossdressers, it's not my problem if you feel offended by my criticism of them. I didn't put you in the same box. Transactivists did. Go and moan at them.

YourVagesty · 19/03/2018 09:10

Anything that changes the narrative from brave, stunning, to what a bunch of tosspots is a good thing.

Yes and actually, all of the 'totally missed the point' comments are in our favour. We've been analysing this for a looooong time and forget that a lot of people, men especially, when confronted with this nonsense will just respond with 'ffs, the world's gone mad. There are men and then there are women and that is clearly a woman/ man' And that's good because that'd what we are trying to cut to.

We need to wake people up from thinking this is so complex and nuanced that they don't understand it. Aka, Leanne Wood with her 'outdated ideas of biology' nonsense.

PerfPower · 19/03/2018 09:12

That was brilliant, but JF said it wouldn't make any difference to changing rooms...have they seen Swim England's new proposals?! Amy was fantastic, so calm and sane compared to JF.

Are transwomen the most self absorbed and selfish group of people ever? Is there a reason they simply can not see any other point of view? It's like they're in a permanent toddler phase.
