To think that Labour thinks women are fecking eejits

They have delayed the announcement re transwomen on All Women Shortlists until June. Because they need to think hard on it.

But, oh, there are elections in England in May! Wouldn't it be nice if the lovely ladies would stop being obstreperous cunts for a wee while and voted for us in May.

Then we can nicely fuck them over in June, just before we all set off to Tuscany for the summer.

I'm not au fait with those leaving Labour members. Are they "Blairites" or whatever? Some LP members seem to be cheering on the Party losing Blairites

Just as everyone who questions Lily is a transphobe- everyone who is not slavishly devoted to St Jeremy is a Blairite. Grin

Think of the warring factions in Labour as a Venn diagram.

The Blairites v the Corbynites is a battle on economic policies - one highly pro-market, one socialist.

The battle over transgender has two separate groups, one pro-self ID, the other against. But those two groups each contain members of the Blairite and Corbynite factions.

There are many more factions. It's a complicated Venn diagram!

Remember that the Tories saying that they won't amend the EA is different from them kicking the GRA reforms into the long grass. They have gone quiet on the GRA reform , but it's still official policy - from the mouth of the PM herself. Even now, the EA is failing to prevent schools, hospitals etc from allowing men to self-ID into women's spaces. If self-ID is legalised, this can only get much worse. I'm worried that the Tories plan to keep us quiet with promises about the EA, then sneak GRA reform through. At present, there is only 1 Tory MP openly opposed.

We need to keep up the pressure on the Tories. It's helpful that the right-wing press are all now criticising self-ID.

It was the liberal democrats who introduced the GRA, The Tories who wanted to amend the thing, so why would people try to blame Labour? I know because they're the ones who want to be most inclusive...right or wrong. There's a couple of women from Labour that have come out to appease the trans activists in the last couple days I think, but they've been dishonest and suggested the EA is somehow illegal! This isn't true so i 'd ignore that and concentrate on the manifesto which promises to enforce the EA.

Don't you just love the Streisand effect? This thread had been languishing in obscurity till some Momentum eager beaver, tasked with doing a bit of amateur astriturfing, but without the skill set, bumped it.

Bit of an own goal, I think.

amber - The GRA was introduced in 2004. Remind us who was in power then? As for the Tories, they have decided not to press ahead with self-ID. If Labour had won the last election, they would certainly have implemented it by now. Their manifesto is duplicitous. It promises to enforce single-sex exemptions, but they have clearly said that they will allow people to self-declare into the legal sex of their choosing and that it will be illegal to discriminate against trans people. I am also thinking about who is going to succeed Corbyn and have heard both Angela Rayner and Dawn Butler touted as possibilities. This would be laughable if it wasn't so frightening. Both of them are gullible ideologues, incapable of having a critical thought between them, and lacking any kind of ability to even comprehend never mind deal with the concept of conflicting rights.

I like the cut of OP's jib.
