To think that Labour thinks women are fecking eejits

They have delayed the announcement re transwomen on All Women Shortlists until June. Because they need to think hard on it.

But, oh, there are elections in England in May! Wouldn't it be nice if the lovely ladies would stop being obstreperous cunts for a wee while and voted for us in May.

Then we can nicely fuck them over in June, just before we all set off to Tuscany for the summer.

I actually may add #UnwantedCunt too. Really let that 'penetrate' that "I am a real woman" ! Grin

TERFPressJunky · 18/03/2018 16:49

It's their job to understand.

transcendentphobic · 18/03/2018 16:49

I mean if Stella Creasy gets 96,000 tweets a day I can understand how she would have little time to read on it herself.

TERFPressJunky · 18/03/2018 16:51

Look at the map of the petition, plenty of TERFs there with Stella. I am sure she was informed and called them nasty bigoted transphobes.

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 18/03/2018 16:55

Stella Creasy would be a fool to align herself with TERFs. But actually, she's not as intelligent as she is being made out to be as the actual smart move is to STFU about it like everyone else.

But then, maybe she's going for the 'Brave Stella' angle.

transcendentphobic · 18/03/2018 16:56

So is Stella Creasy a careerist or a handmaiden? Or both??
I thought her motion on abortion was great - I keep being disappointed by Labour MPs.

Elendon · 18/03/2018 17:00

I got a malware notice on their latest email to me. I've recently rejoined the Labour Party.

I'm not happy at all!

IntelligentYetIndecisive · 18/03/2018 17:04

Reported on the BBC.

I'm pleased by the announcement. I can't see myself voting for another party so its a relief that they may see sense.

I can't see how they're going to get out of it though. Whatever they say people will not be happy.

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 18/03/2018 17:45

Yeh I'm not voting for them. Fuck them

KochabRising · 18/03/2018 17:54

Lifelong labour voter here.

Will not be voting for them ever again unless there is a serious about turn in the way I perceive their views on women. It’s not just self ID it’s the dismissive way it’s been handled. It’s really exposed to me just how much these supposedly right on left wingers actively dislike women.

For the foreseeable, I’m a single issue voter. You oppose self ID, you conduct a rational and ethical (ie no UKIP/BF type parties) debate and you get my vote.

ReluctantCamper · 18/03/2018 18:29

I'm in a dilemma now. am on the may day for women list, but I'm sick of that bunch of misogynistic wankers getting my £4 a month. If I resign now am I breaking solidarity with mayday for women?

Genuinnely don't know what to so.

ArcheryAnnie · 18/03/2018 18:35

Oh ffs Stella is now recommending a Julia Serano piece. God forbid that women can discuss politics without being recommended to focus on male "wisdom".

I liked Stella. She's a massive, massive disappointment.

Melamin · 18/03/2018 18:44

I am really not impressed by MPs calling people transphobic. It is shutting down debate as far as I am concerned. And as Jackie Holyoake said, it is worthy of a police visit in the current climate Hmm , so they really need to be more careful.

Don't know anything about JS - will have to look it up.

Elendon · 18/03/2018 18:45

The men in the party don't like Stella. But, and this is important, she is a good constituency MP.

I doubt any of her constituents would know Julia Serano was. Can't understand way this is linked to her.

SquirrelChaser · 18/03/2018 18:47

Wow. I’m shocked to see the term TERF being used here. I asked Lily Madigan a very polite question some time ago and was immediately blocked by him and placed on a terfblocker list. So any question they don’t like gets you labelled a TERF and debate is immediately shut down.

Don’t vote Green either. I queried the used of the term TERF and was told that I’m not welcome in the party and that I should try UKIP. I have queried it with their Governance administrator and they are “looking into the background of the term” as it’s disputed that it is offensive and they don’t care if I resign my membership and don’t vote for them.

Is the International Journal of Transgenderism legit? It sounds very one-sided - The World Professional Association for Transgender Health

that paper was published in a peer reviewed journal which is standard for academic research- i.e. you can't just make stuff up as your peers review it before publication

I can't see it taking much of a wide ranging view.

TerfsUp · 18/03/2018 19:14

Is the International Journal of Transgenderism legit?

As far as I can tell, it is published by Taylor & Francis, a reputable publisher. It doesn't seem to be very widely-read (at least online) or very influential, though.

Trumpdump · 18/03/2018 19:28

Will this affect Jennifer's legal challenge?

Floisme · 18/03/2018 19:48

I'm embarrassed to admit, if I could only believe they were genuinely thinking about it, that might actually be enough. It's pathetic how little I am asking for. I'm like someone in a bad relationship, always looking for a reason to give them one more chance.

But even I need something a little bit more than, 'Wait until after my birthday so you can buy me a present first.'

Melamin · 18/03/2018 19:55

A little niche, then.

Vickxy · 18/03/2018 20:44

I think they will just get rid of AWS. Will be a vote winner with men, and TRA/MRAs win. Fuck women. Its always been about taking away the few things women actually have anyway, especially for the likes of Madigan.

I don't think TRAs will be happy with the delay though, as I am sure they were planning a massive gloat over it all tomorrow.

LostArt · 18/03/2018 22:54

Does this mean that until June, all WOS will include or exclude self id women?

LostArt · 18/03/2018 22:55

Not WOS, AWS
