Seriously: I was around during the GF case (she commenced proceedings against Mumsnet for libel, and I believe against the particular poster who offended her).

It wasn't pretty.

We were not allowed to mention her, let alone post threads about her. The tension and strain coming through from Mumsnet HQ were palpable. It was settled in the end, I think, but at who knows what cost?

Can we please stop and think before we post: do we want to lose this forum - the only one which currently allows gender critical posts ?

Sorry if that sounded sanctimonious. I have been sued for defamation myself. I hadn't written or said any of the things alleged. But it took me years, and six figures, to get far enough through the courts for the case to be dropped.
