This is the petition asking the government to consult with women on the proposals to enshrine gender identity in law.

Excellent!

ChoccyJules · 12/03/2018 12:54

Signed and now need to spend some time creating a clear statement to post on my social media with the petition link. Coming out of the woodwork!
(Before I get carried away, what type of work are people in where they would be concerned about being seen to sign this? I work in Education & Health and I feel it's frankly nobody's business. Is it because employers may see it as transphobic?)

Hidingtonothing · 12/03/2018 12:54

Done, both me and DH have signed and I've shared on FB, over 300 signatures already Smile

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 12/03/2018 12:54

Signed. Shared too as I'm the first to sign in my constituency.

UpstartCrow · 12/03/2018 12:55

rockshandy the sages fact sheet has a great overview. The #ManFriday leaflet is a good intro.

Bumblebzz · 12/03/2018 12:58

(Yep he’s already texted me that he’s signed and forwarded)

thenightsky · 12/03/2018 12:59

Signed and the link emailed to various contacts.

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 12/03/2018 13:00

Isn't it shocking that people have to be cautious signing this through fear of repercussions from employers, etc.?

Just a request for consultation?

Bumblebzz · 12/03/2018 13:00

There is really nothing in the wording of this petition to worry about, it’s merely asking for women to be consulted with, you can’t get more mild than that

Gileswithachainsaw · 12/03/2018 13:00

Signed!

zen1 · 12/03/2018 13:02

Signed

MrsCharlesBrandon · 12/03/2018 13:02

Signed!

YesItsADebate · 12/03/2018 13:02

It’s extremely mild. I really hope that the message that this is about being pro-women and girls, NOT about being anti-trans, gets through.

I didn't see the map feature before. Someone else has signed in my tiny constituency! (Proud. And also - curious.)

froomeonthebroom · 12/03/2018 13:06

Signed

Iminthecclubnow · 12/03/2018 13:06

Signed. How do I see the map?

I'm still not brave enough to share this yet, but I feel myself getting closer to outing myself as gender critical!

drinkswineoutofamug · 12/03/2018 13:06

400 (at time of typing!)

YesItsADebate · 12/03/2018 13:08

Under the signatures bar there’s a little blue link saying ‘Show on a map’. It’s pretty cool: on a desktop you can hover over the constituencies to see how many people signed there and which party the MP belongs to.
