Relevant section:

Meanwhile, a woman who criticised a transgender charity on Twitter has been questioned under caution by police and told she will be arrested if she tries to leave the country. Kellie-Jay Keen- Minshull accused the group Mermaids of “suppressing free speech”.

She had accused Mermaids, which calls for children to be allowed irreversible sex-change treatment the NHS currently prohibits, of “prey[ing]” on gay teenagers and of “mass child abuse”. Mermaids declined to comment.

Don't know if this has been shared twitter.com/MrHenryWimbush/status/973304805715333122. Wait to be told, ask no questions.

Jack's favourite outfits were the tutu and the Snow White costume
I have never dressed up in any kind of princess dress or tutu. Am I a man?

Datun · 12/03/2018 22:05

I think Posie's tweets are still on Twitter, you will have to trawl through.

As far as I'm aware, it's calling it's castration because Susie Green felt it was reminiscent of a sex offender.

And the fact that it was called abuse.

SimonBridges · 12/03/2018 22:10

A child is brought up with a set of values instilled by their parents. We know they come from the parents because they start before the child is old enough to fully understand the ideals and concepts.
This child is told that their genitalia is wrong and they must have it corrected.
The child has been told this often enough that they believe it. They are an impressionable child after all.
When they reach a certain age their parents take them to another country to have an irreversible operation on their fully working, healthy genitalia.

FGM or ‘gender reassignment’?

WooWooSister · 12/03/2018 22:15

Frank considering this is an active police matter, it may not be appropriate for someone to compile a tweet list for you.

AnotherQuoll · 12/03/2018 22:21

But it was castration. The boy had his testicles removed because she took him outside of the reach of UK law and paid for an orchiectomy.

Susie Green sounds to me as if she's desperately trying to keep herself in a bubble of denial about what she's really gone and done to her kid.

Franksense · 12/03/2018 22:26

Woowoo, yes of course, you are quite right, sorry. I didn’t think about that. I will trawl.

Terftastic · 12/03/2018 22:31

This is going to be bigger than the Kids Company scandal when it blows. And it will.

Puppies and sweets. Police and social services involved if parents or teachers don't take the trans-ideology advice. Don't forget, the police were also called by Mermaids to a school for misgendering by a teacher.

This is getting seriously out of hand.

officerhinrika · 12/03/2018 22:39

Donated

Efrig · 12/03/2018 22:42

They should be done for wasting police time.

The Yorkshire connection. Some thoughts.

  • Mermaids is based in Leeds.
  • MESMAC (sexual health and survivors of sexual abuse charity) have been in the news recently for things that happened in Leeds. The Yorkshire branch were the ones who drafted the procedures stating that staff can have sex with clients. Paedophile Heathcliff Bowen also worked at MESMAC Leeds until his conviction recently.
  • West Yorkshire Police give funds to MESMAC.
  • West Yorkshire Police received two reports from Leeds Council about MESMAC. WYP did nothing.
  • Trans Leeds (support group for transgender people) and Action for Trans Health (yes, that lot) use MESMAC offices in Leeds for meetings.
  • Yorkshire Ambulance Service were the ones who invited Karen Jones (transgender killer and sex offender) to educate staff.
  • Susie Green contacts WYP about comments made online by Posie, and WYP immediately leap into action. This despite not responding to complaints of wrongdoing at MESMAC.

Helluva coincidence that all of this is happening in one small part of the country.

It reads very much like a network to me.

I understand why some people are saying that having therapy is akin to gay aversion therapy.
However here’s how I see it:
Child comes out as gay. They have same sex relationships and are happy. Win
Child comes out as gay. They have some same sex relationships but realise it isn’t right and ends up in a straight relationship. They consider themselves as bi. No lasting problems other than some unhappy relationships.
Child comes out as gay in the past. They are sent to gay aversion therapy. They are unhappy and unable to live the life they want. Long term problems.

Child comes out as trans. They have therapy they talk through their problems and live their life in a way that makes them happy possibly with surgery but they can make that choice as an informed adult. Win.
Child comes out as trans. They are taken for hormone therapy and surgery without and support. They get railroaded into procedures without the full help to make an informed choice. They are left with surgical altered genitals and are left infertile.

MrsJoshDun · 12/03/2018 23:29

Yes, I can’t actually scroll back far enough to find the tweets, iPad freezes.

BeyondDeadlySiren · 12/03/2018 23:32

Popchyk, don't forget that historically police in Yorkshire also have a blasé attitutde to Peter Sutcliffes victims, the ignoring of the Rotherham abuse, and the Hillsborough cover up.

Popchyk · 12/03/2018 23:39

Yes, and they are not blasé at all about investigating online comments made to the mother of a transgender adult.

They take that very seriously and allocate time and resources to it.

Question is.

Why?

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 12/03/2018 23:39

Donated and messaged with real name.

In same position as Posie, sahm, no career.

Only thing to lose is looks Grin if I get punched when supporting her if necessary when/if this goes to court.

Got over that when it was supposed to be someone who loved me, so would wear it with pride in this instance.

LabourLostMe · 12/03/2018 23:44

Instead of trawling the Tweets put key words into the search bar.

BiologyMatters · 13/03/2018 06:30

It's really terrifying how much power these people have.

Bangkokhilton · 13/03/2018 06:42

I had no idea about all those Yorkshire connections @Popchyk ...surely someone like Andre Giligan or James Kirkup could pick up on this & do a big expose?

I'd like to know how that part works too. If the surgery was illegal at that age, and so were the drugs a few years earlier, could Green not be prosecuted for that? Surely you can't just work around the various laws that govern what's legal for kids by a certain age by just taking the child abroad?

SimonBridges · 13/03/2018 07:23

You’d think so Yippee. Certainly if this was a girl taken out for FGM the parents would be prosecuted.

AngryAttackKittens · 13/03/2018 07:24

What about parents who try to get their underage kids married abroad? I feel like I've read about their being legal ways to address that, but may be remembering incorrectly.

AnotherQuoll · 13/03/2018 07:33

I wonder how quickly the same West Yorkshire Police show up on doorsteps of transactivists (or anyone) who routinely use homophobic language to abuse and accuse lesbians of being bigoted, "terfs" who should be punched, raped, and or otherwise tortured, and die in various painful ways.

spoiler alert No I don't. I don't wonder at all.
