@Fairyflaps following your post about concerns about the NHS promoting Mermaids on the page about transgender on the NHS website, I've just been looking up what they say about gender dysphoria:
https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/gender-dysphoria/
On this page it specifically says that gender dysphoria is not a mental illness (is that true?). It also says that puberty blocking hormones for children are completely reversible...
Does anyone know if the UK officially classifies gender dysphoria as a mental illness?
I'm not quite sure where I'm going with this line of thinking, it's just that I'm now wary that the people writing for NHS website are being unduly influenced by TRAs...is the NHS website fact based & objective?
If gender dysphoria is no longer classified as a mental illness then perhaps that encourages people to believe in the nonsense of "female souls" born into male bodies & vice versa? If it's not a mental illness, what is it? Also, if it's not a mental illness then why would psychological treatment help (in some cases)?
On the gender dysphoria treatment page on the NHS website it specifically talks about giving hormones to children:
www.nhs.uk/conditions/gender-dysphoria/treatment/
"The effects of treatment with GnRH analogues are considered to be fully reversible, so treatment can usually be stopped at any time after a discussion between you, your child and your MDT."
Fully reversible? No mention of any bad side effects for children taking puberty blockers? (Risks for adults taking feminising/masculinising hormones are however, discussed further down the page)
Is @MoseShrute able to shed any light on this at all?

for @therealposieparker - you are amazing! There are a lot of us supporting you & thankful you are standing up for the truth.
