That TED talk.
I don't get it. I really don't.
Susie Green had an utterley ingrained belief that certain toys are for girls and certain toys are for boys.
She was so devastated by her child's toy choice she took him to the doctor? And was desperately hoping it was a phase. Why? Why couldn't he choose his preferences for the rest of his life?
Her husband took all the kids' toys away and the kid became withdrawn.
I can think of a few things less traumatising than taking away all a kid's toys and telling them, in no uncertain circumstances, that they are wrong. He even asked his grandmother for a doll, but said to keep it secret from his parents.
Good grief.
No wonder he thought he was a girl, for God sake. It's been reinforced to him every step of the way.
She even apologised to him, aged SIX, that he couldn't have the operation yet, but he could when he was older.
And she still uses gendered words like diva and hot and 'she can wrap her dad around her little finger'. It's such a bloody cliche.
Susie Green wouldn't recognise feminism if it bit her on the arse.
Gender is damaging.
I have often wondered about gender dysphoria. And how it is triggered.
I believe that video goes a long way to explaining it.
I'm really shocked.
I mean she didn't even try and hide it. She can't. Because she truly believes it. She truly believes that stereotypes matter.
Why would you tell the world that you took all his toys away because they were wrong? It's so stupid.
