Biological SEX MATTERS. How many mumsnetters say "aye" to this campaign?

SexMatters · 05/03/2018 10:34

This document and campaign called 'Sex Matters' is a collaborative effort by amazing and knowledgeable mumsnetters on a couple of threads in FWR.

To move forward with the campaign, the organisations and individuals approached will need to know who is behind it, and the honest truth, is that mumsnetters have spearheaded it.

That does not mean that other campaigners can't get involved or even take greater ownership of it. But it needs a bio in order to introduce it to people and organisations to get started and I need your consent to describe the campaign this way: 'mumsnetter led' (and maybe even some suggestions for writing a bio on this thread).

So, you amazing gender-critical mumsnetters, do you say 'aye'?

@SexMatters

Your PDF is an incredibly good document to use, I was extremely grateful to link to it. Accolades to all the people that put it together.

Respect.

Aye.

Bangkokhilton · 11/03/2018 21:13

Thanks @Mouthtrousersafrocknowandthen your letter was great, his response was seemed like a stock response, I wonder how many people have received the same one?

I am seriously considering leaving the Labour Party over this issue.

Mouthtrousersafrocknowandthen · 11/03/2018 21:22

@Bangkokhilton
from the feedback I got her and elsewhere a standard template was circulated rapidly for them to cut and paste from, he took three weeks to answer me so was likely baffled at first read. He's an old man. This is a multi cultural area. Asian people dare not comment because they will get a nasty response based on the usual prejudice. Its all quite Eastern European here too, I was married for 23 years to a Polish guy and they will also not feel happy to have their cultural dignity ignored in the same way I don't. This is not phobia, this is a dignity I have enjoyed my whole life which is now being thrown back at me as prejudiced.

Good morning. Since the last pie chart 70 more people have responded. 68 said "aye" and 2 "nay" one respondent I wasn't clear whether they were saying aye, just commenting on the thread, or felt conflicted so I left them out.

Thank you for doing this and to everyone who has contributed. It's a fab resource and a great way to raise awareness!

I plan to message my MP. For anyone else wanting to mail their MP or any other elected politician that represents them (worked out from your postcode) and not sure where to start, you can use this website, if not to send the message then at least to find the full details.

Sunkisses · 13/03/2018 15:20

aye - thank you so much for doing this. We need more grassroots campaigns. Would be great if Sex Matters could also organise public meetings in real life, and not just be an internet based campaign too

SexMatters · 13/03/2018 15:37

Thank you SunKisses that is a good idea Smile
