Biological SEX MATTERS. How many mumsnetters say "aye" to this campaign?

1000 replies

SexMatters · 05/03/2018 10:34

This document and campaign called 'Sex Matters' is a collaborative effort by amazing and knowledgeable mumsnetters on a couple of threads in FWR.

To move forward with the campaign, the organisations and individuals approached will need to know who is behind it, and the honest truth, is that mumsnetters have spearheaded it.

That does not mean that other campaigners can't get involved or even take greater ownership of it. But it needs a bio in order to introduce it to people and organisations to get started and I need your consent to describe the campaign this way: 'mumsnetter led' (and maybe even some suggestions for writing a bio on this thread).

So, you amazing gender-critical mumsnetters, do you say 'aye'?

In a fb group I'm in people are aghast that an infants child sex ed will include that boys and girls have different bodies.... (lots of autistic people and lots of people either trans or gnc kids). Apparently it should be people with a penis and people with a vagina as otherwise the infant child will find it traumatic.

It's the toilets that are complicated isn't it?

(sorry, need to start new thread...)

I do not see any issue with a trans person as a teacher, police officer etc, but I do have a problem with the double speak to say they are female.

My position exactly. It's not an honest conversation which is why they got that result, it's predicated on the belief that trans people all have gender dysphoria which is a terrible mental health condition so we'd better humour them with pronouns. But we don't want them to have positions of responsibility. It's really quite stark.

IMO transactivists take full advantage of the confusion and obfuscation around language and discourse. We need more honesty.

Yes. This is the overarching principle here that needs to be addressed in the strongest terms. Regardless of everything else and all other considerations, this is the bit I most object to. I will not accept this anti-science, anti-fact and utterly nonsensical ideology and I certainly will not glibly accept its codification into law.

As they say, fuck that shit!
