'Knell. Anyone seen Jennifer James' tweets about her [labour party] suspension meeting?

I know this is more party politics but FFS. SMH.

JJ says

Yesterday I had my suspension meeting with @uklabour. They asked me why I criticised Action For Trans Health (ATH) and called them an hate group. In a tweet where I'd screenshot the ATH posts about terfs needing a punch and 10,000 police officers needing to be murdered... 🤔

So... I'm being called in by the Labour party for criticism of a group THAT WANTS TO MURDER TEN THOUSAND MEN AND WOMEN POLICE OFFICERS. Working class people, serving the community. But I'm in the wrong? 😳

If this was the EDL or another far right group, they would be, rightly, condemned for calling for the Death of Thousands of Police Officers. But somehow having the word 'Trans' in the group's name makes it OK?

... Anyway... my point IS that I have made complaints via email about, idk, maybe 15 Labour members for being personally abusive towards me? Have not even had one acknowledgement from [email protected] yet.

What else was there... dicks wasn't mentioned at all... oh yes, I was asked about a joke tweet I sent to James Kirkup of the Spectator, saying he deserved more abuse than he got. It was intended to make him laugh. Now James Kirkup didn't complain about the tweet...

and Labour never contacted James Kirkup of The Spectator to ASK him if he was offended by the tweet. However someone Else was very offended On His Behalf (looking at you Secret Squirrels) and sent it in.

How did I know James Kirkup of The Spectator magazine never complained to @UKLabour? Well I asked him, didn't I. And James GOD LOVE HIM wrote me this. Which I read out in full to the investigating officers of The Party:

Wow the tlot phickens- what a load of PC chickens and Thought Police Labour & WEP are - addicted to ticking boxes and not offending Trans yet happy to harass and disappear women and their concerns. Their complaints processes have been weaponised against women, as we discover in state and corporates alike whee we try to use them. Labour us no different and disappointingly really are part of the problem not of the solution

ALittleBitOfButter · 01/03/2018 04:18

Amazing. Hope it gets picked up by MSM. You think they'd actually try and have watertight evidence...

MrsOvarall · 01/03/2018 07:03

Every time I think I've reached peak Labour they go one step further. Just so, so disillusioned and disappointed in them.

Well done James. Well done Jennifer...stay strong.

DamnDeDoubtanceIsSpartacus · 01/03/2018 07:14

Oh My Gods!!! How can they read a tweet threatening violence and ask why she has called them out for it? It's like teflon for males isn't it, transing. Well, not for transsexuals and certainly not for trans men but for average white dudes and kids with purple hair it's a free licence.

MrsJoshDun · 01/03/2018 07:18

Labour Party have lost the plot. totally, totally lost it.

QuentinSummers · 01/03/2018 07:19

That letter is funny. Wonder what the Labour party will do.

ReluctantCamper · 01/03/2018 07:33

I am still a member of the labour party. I have never been an active member so I don't know the ropes here. Does anyone with more experience than me know if there anything I can do? While I find some of Jennifer's language and behaviour Hmm , the way she is being treated in unacceptable.

notthebees · 01/03/2018 07:49

Please put this on the main boards - everybody needs to see this. It's ludicrous.

Datun · 01/03/2018 07:52

Action for Trans Health? Seriously?

The group who 'liked' the let's fuck some terfs up comment before a woman was hit at speakers corner by the person who wrote it?

Who call for the immediate release of all trans prisoners and to be trained in the art of surgery so they can operate on one another, and whose manifesto looks like the rantings of dangerously unhinged men? Almost laughable in its absurdity.

Are the Labour Party really trying to say there is nothing wrong with that? Or are they admitting they know fuck all about it?

ATH were consulted on the original transgender equality document. Since then, their utterances have become completely deranged.

Is it possible that there are this many people in the Labour Party who are saying things like ATH and Lily Madigan, are isolated incidents?

One off examples of things that might actually be a bit tricky, but they can weather?

Are they not seeing all the rest of it? The threats, the inconsistency, the wholesale determination to shut women up, underpinned by inducing fear of personal violence or having their employers targetted?

They are either truly this stupid, or this dangerous.

Ketkins · 01/03/2018 07:57

ATH are a bunch of demented anarchists who advocate for no age limit on hormones and support the idea of smacking women in the mouth who don't agree with their position. The more light we can shine on them the better imo.

Batfurger · 01/03/2018 08:05

Jennifer James is doing a great job but she’s also alienating a lot of allies along the way. I think she needs to relax a bit tbh. Otherwise the movement will implode.

PlectrumElectrum · 01/03/2018 08:39

To be fair to Jennifer, I think she's done well to stand up to this madness & stand against what must be an overwhelming sea of bile & hatred towards her. She's posted plenty of the conversations Labour Party members are having about her & they're brutal & outrageously abusive. That all those members are able to continue unchallenged while she gets suspended for those comments is as baffling as it is infuriating. A lesser person would have crumbled under the force of that level of hatred towards them - so if her language at times grates, I'm ok with that. I get not everyone is, but she has shown a strength of character that I admire even if I don't agree with everything she says blind faith in corbyn & his stance on this whole situation

The Labour Party are a joke if this is the level of insight they have on what's going on re TRA.

OP posts:
MrsOvarall · 01/03/2018 08:48

I agree Plectrum. JJ has great strength but is unwise not to ditch Corbyn and Momentum over this IMO. Nevertheless I admire her for speaking out at great personal cost.

shedalight · 01/03/2018 08:49

I agree PlectrumElectrum
I don't have to agree with everything Jennifer says to recognise her courage in not letting these bigots and misogynists in the Labour party bring her down.
The fact that ATH is still seen as a legitimate organisation by Labour despite their outrageous writings and acts, shows just how much the trans label blinds people on the left to reality.
She's on the front line here in a way that I could never be and I salute her.

LangCleg · 01/03/2018 08:50

Christafuckinglive.

I really don't know what else to say.

Thatsnotmybody · 01/03/2018 08:54

How can I show my support to her? Is there anything we can do?

ellaoldie · 01/03/2018 09:02

The irony is that JJ seems to be the most loyal foot soldier a party could ever want. How many other Labour members would have deserted the party already under this kind of stress? But she's hung on and defended JC and yet it's her they seem to want rid of

LizzieSiddal · 01/03/2018 09:09

Does anyone know how the meeting ended? Is she still suspended?

PlectrumElectrum · 01/03/2018 09:13

She says she thinks she'll be expelled from the party over this.

OP posts:
PlectrumElectrum · 01/03/2018 09:14

Sorry that's not the outcome but what she thinks will be the outcome.

OP posts:
KochabRising · 01/03/2018 09:16

Never voting labour again. They no longer speak for me.

LizzieSiddal · 01/03/2018 09:16

So she may be a corked because she pointed out a group wanted to kill people Hmm

Riiiiiiight.

Well we can only hope if she does, the press all pick this up and run with it.

LizzieSiddal · 01/03/2018 09:20

corked? Sorry that should be expelled

UpstartCrow · 01/03/2018 09:23

I'm starting to think this year has been marked as significant for the take down of women.

QueenLaBeefah · 01/03/2018 09:28

I really don't understand why the Labour Party is so committed to the trans agenda. It's not a vote winner for starters.
