The last few days, there have been several claims of misandry on Feminist Chat. Please post examples here using a link and screen shot.

Thank you.

Women creating a movement by and for women? That's wicked, that is. Clearly she's a witch.

(Adjusts pointy hat)

TellsEveryoneRealFacts · 25/02/2018 09:59

Because if it's not about equality then what's it about?

If you don't know how are you a feminist man? Perhaps you should do some research? Google is your friend.

BertrandRussell · 25/02/2018 10:00

“A significant minority were along the lines of 'hardly any rape allegations are false so the bastard obviously did it'.

It's this kind of stuff I am talking about.”

And that is saying “all men are rapists”? Really? I am prepared to say, based on a long life and much life experience and statistics and data that most men accused of rape are rapists. That is a very different thing to “all men are rapists”

LassWiADelicateAir · 25/02/2018 10:02

I'm puzzled by the OP"s comments about my posts. What I said was I don't think the poster who started the "when I see a little boy I wonder if he is a rapist" thread was in good faith Most , although not all, replies said it was unreasonable

I clearly said it had been deleted so to say
Lass didn't say that thread was called out by members of the Feminist Board as being unreasonable and goady fuckery, before it was deleted would tend to suggest the OP has a reading problem.

PatriarchyPersonified · 25/02/2018 10:06

Tells

Why don't you tell me what it's about? I'm told by pretty much every mainstream feminist source that feminism is just about equality. On those terms myself and the vast majority of men are feminists.

However now it appears there is more to it.

If we all achieve gender equality, then what more do you want to get?

AngryAttackKittens · 25/02/2018 10:08

Wow, I didn't realize that Google was out of operation. This is unprecedented.

IfyouseeRitaMoreno · 25/02/2018 10:09

Do you really think being accused of not seeing dirt is offensive and oppressive to men?

Along with all the other hilarious stereotypes about them? Yes.

But in general it’s not feminists who believe that men are incapable. It’s other women who infantilise men, roll their eyes at men’s so-called incompetence and rush off to Boots to get meds for manflu whilst they themselves are struggling with colds, housework, childcare etc.

That Boots ad perfectly demonstrates the lie that patriarchy/ society / whatever has sold us. That women should do more of the grunt work because men are too incompetent.

Similar arguments I’ve seen by actual published authors are: girls have more empathy and don’t mind reading books about boy protagonists whilst boys can’t handle reading about girls.

Women have empathy and release oxytocin when ironing shirts for their family because it’s all so caring. That’s why women are better at housework. And should do more of it.

It’s a coping mechanism given to us. A pat on the head to stop us getting pissed off. And it’s been around since Victorian times when women starting getting stroppy.

That was when the Angel in the House gubbins came about - the idea that men should do the important well paid stuff because women were morally superior. Twisty twisty crap.

Feminists know men aren’t incompetent and feminists believe that men are well capable of empathy. Feminists aren’t the ones with a low opinion of men.

He says misandry. I say bantz.

Obviously, I think bantz is a good game and also an appropriate response to silly, sanctimonious men on feminist messageboards. He may well think misandry.

I'm happy with either.

Take me directly to the ducking stool! Actually, no. Take me to the ducking stool after I've eaten my pancakes.

PatriarchyPersonified · 25/02/2018 10:11

Angry

So equality... Can't find any other definitions.

Although according to Lang, that's the 'wank' definition.

So what's the right one?

Evidence of misandry on Feminist chat.
AngryAttackKittens · 25/02/2018 10:11

Unless the ducking pool is full of maple syrup, in which case it might be quite convenient.

AngryAttackKittens · 25/02/2018 10:12

Still not doing your research for you, lazy bloke. Taking the word patriarchy out of scare quotes might help. Just a tip!

LangCleg · 25/02/2018 10:15

I have Nutella. And I made the slave DH spread it for me.

QuentinSummers · 25/02/2018 10:16

Cba to read the whole thread. The term Misandry is a bat signal and I have better things to do.

However I did read doctortwo post and just popped on to say please start that thread. It sounds great.

IfyouseeRitaMoreno · 25/02/2018 10:21

AngryAttackKittens. Just as I’ve reached #peaktrans I’ve also reached #peakhavingtoexplainfeministsdonthatemen. So can I come sit on your bench with Team Doesn’t Give a Shit?

Cos life is too short.

Patodp · 25/02/2018 10:22

The misunderstanding that feminism = equality is what got us into this mess with the TRAs in the first place.

Everyone knows what we really want is global domination for women.

Patodp · 25/02/2018 10:23

(Joke)

AngryAttackKittens · 25/02/2018 10:23

Our bench is spacious and well padded, and we have room for as many women as want to join.

Maybe Lang will even share her Nutella if we're lucky.

AngryAttackKittens · 25/02/2018 10:24

(Angry man runs back to MRA forum screeching "see, I knew that's what they wanted all along! That and our balls!")

windchimesabotage · 25/02/2018 10:28

'Misandry' I think its the same as being black and being racist against white western people. Yeah its not a good or okay thing but its very different from the reverse of it because of the structure of power and also because of the prevalence of abuse women face.

That thread about looking at a little boy and wondering if he would grow up to become a rapist was just very sad.
And I say this as a mother of a little boy. I certainly dont look at little boys like that but if a woman does its more likely that it has come out of her facing violence and sexual abuse from men than from some irrational hatred. Thats something to be pitied and dealt with not something to be written off as a hatred.
At the end of the day when 1 in 3 women has faced sexual assault from a man its hardly surprising when some end up suspicious and frightened. I dont think you can write that off as irrational hatred really.

And im saying this as someone happily married to a man who has a son and many many amazing men in their life.

BertrandRussell · 25/02/2018 10:29

“That thread about looking at a little boy and wondering if he would grow up to become a rapist was just very sad.”

And started by a troll.

windchimesabotage · 25/02/2018 10:30

oh was it sorry? I didnt read it through or comment on it. I just saw it and thought 'thats really sad'

LangCleg · 25/02/2018 10:32

My Nutella jar has TARDIS qualities. So there is plenty to share (with women because I'm a misandrist who hates men. Let's not forget that bit).

UpstartCrow · 25/02/2018 10:34

PatriarchyPersonified
''Feminist movements campaign for womens rights'. Women dont always need 'equality', they often need the right to make decisions about issues that affect women. Feminism sometimes means liberation rather than equality.

Should Black people need to ask white people to give them equality? How should Black people talk about the problems they face? Should white people tell them how to run their movement and tone police them? Are the problems they face caused by white people reacting to their activism?

If you frame it that way maybe it's easier to see the problem.

Sigh.

I'm not an MRA.

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 25/02/2018 10:54

Not the particular post you were referencing though. Most quickly slammed it down and it was deleted

Im getting confused

I thought upstart wanted examples of misandry

Not examples of misandry that lots people agreed with

But i agree with the premise for a site full of misandrist man haters there aren't many examples

I would also say that I honestly think that some 'new' posters on both sides of debate like to stir the fucking pot...its interesting that some of the more contentious statements are made by new posters or 'wow what a coincidence...i name change frequently and just happened to have name changed for this comment ' posters

(Apologies to those who honestly change frequently...my comment is directed more at ploppers)
