Man re-transitions after just 7 months!

Sorry that it's a DM article, but someone posted this on Twitter. His reasons are interesting, and pretty much what many people have said on these threads already.

"Man re-transitions after just 7 months"

In other words, man wears blonde wig for 7 months.

Agerbilatemycardigan · 16/02/2018 12:05

Pretty much - although he did have the hormone treatment, which his ex wife helped to fund!

*Jim had hidden his feminine feelings all his life and despite dressing as a woman last year, he still didn't feel 100 per cent happy.

People were then assuming he shouldn't do anything that's not female related and that's when he felt as though he was being put in another box*

So is this one of the dangers of the wide trans umbrella?

He sounds like someone who maybe has a bit of a kink/cross dresser or perhaps someone who is GNC and feels restricted exploring that within the category of being male.

Clearly he didn't need to be pumped with hormones.

It's annoying that the sub headlines refer to him as a she as in this context it's plainly ridiculous.

I'm sure he will be denounced as not 'proper' trans.

Agerbilatemycardigan · 16/02/2018 12:19

I noticed the 'she' pronoun too. And this despite the fact that he'd only taken the hormones. He obviously realised really quickly, that being a 'woman' wasn't as much fun as he thought it looked. And it's so much more than pink frocks and blonde wigs.

Man doesn’t feel comfortable with masculine stereotypes. Man thinks that this discomfort is synonymous with “feeling like a woman” (of course, because woman is an absence of man-ness). Man pretends to be a woman for a bit. Man get some a grip. The end.

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 16/02/2018 12:22

he felt as though he was being put in another box

Agerbilatemycardigan · 16/02/2018 12:24

He does sound exhausting. To be honest, I think he did his poor ex wife a favour.

I bet trans activists have already scrambled to show how he is either an exception or - more likely - was never really trans.

BigDeskBob · 16/02/2018 12:26

It does show how easy 'transitioning' is. And how easy it is for men to change their mind again.

velourvoyageur · 16/02/2018 12:30

'Feminine feelings', 'true gender', 'dressing as a woman', I just don't understand how people can be so taken in by this utter guff...are we all on autopilot?

Agerbilatemycardigan · 16/02/2018 12:35

Looking at some of the comments on the piece, it seems that the scales are falling from people's eyes. About bloody time really.

OvaHere · 16/02/2018 12:37

I don't think most are but the average DM reader probably just writes it off as a tiny bunch of individuals doing daft stuff.

There isn't enough understanding around connecting the dots from this guy to guidance going out to schools and orgs to what's going on in academia to legislation at a parliamentary level then finally on to the ramifications of it all to society.

DaisyDrip · 16/02/2018 12:38

Now imagine that was a young person who had surgically transitioned. Infertile and stuck, really stuck in a body that doesn't match their feelings.

Earlyriser84 · 16/02/2018 12:40

I can't cope with it all anymore. Can no-one see how ridiculous this is all getting.

I would like to share my views on this in RL but fear of being called transphobic which would not be great in my line of work.

It is getting dangerous now. Men can just decide they are women and access women only protected spaces and then what...change their mind?! Not to mention children being diagnosed as transgender at aged three ? My daughter, who is also three, told me she was a dinosaur the other day, as well as a jacket pay. I don't care what any one says but a three year old has no concept of gender such that thet 'feel' they are in the wrong body.

It's utterly preposterous and I wouldn't be appalled but for the erosion of women's rights and the dangers to children.

There is a Labour Women's Forum coming up soon in my local CLP and i feel i want to raise this but again, i'm afraid of being struck down as a 'transphobe'.

OldmanOfTheWeb · 16/02/2018 12:44

What are "feminine feelings". I'm a guy so I don't know. Do you all have different versions of hope, fear, jealousy? What is love like for women? For us it's this kind of warm trembly expansive feeling. I bet yours is completely different.

Geronimoleapinglizards · 16/02/2018 12:46

I know children adapt well to all sorts of situations but this must be so confusing for his children.

I think calling himself gender fluid now is just about saving face.

velourvoyageur · 16/02/2018 12:50

Errr Oldman I think you may actually be a woman! That's what love is for us, so...

OldmanOfTheWeb · 16/02/2018 12:56

Gosh darn it - so the trans activists were right all along. All these years living as a man only to find out I'm having "feminine feelings."

Do I have to become a Woman's Officer for Labour now? Sad

TheGoldenBough · 16/02/2018 12:56

'Jim is gender fluid and doesn't particularly relate to either gender at the moment, he is just himself.'

Tbh, I think it's a very small number of people who only want to do Man Things or Woman Things.

So Jim is like the majority of us then. Nowt special. Move along, there's nothing to see here...

TheGoldenBough · 16/02/2018 12:58

Oldman, there's always a man in that role. I'm sure we can find another women we can oust from her job for you.

I take it you can pout and apply highlighter. No? Me neither. Definitely a woman!

TheGoldenBough · 16/02/2018 12:58

Already not always!

Agerbilatemycardigan · 16/02/2018 12:58

The other thing that struck me about this story is he's using it to sell his book. He got married knowing how he felt, his wife went along with his fantasy and even enabled him to carry it out, his kids were expected to understand what was happening, and then when he decided that being a woman wasn't as much fun as he'd thought, decided he wanted to be a man again - and then moved in with his ex wife and her new partner.

If that's not narcissistic behaviour, then I don't know what is.

I mean yeah, how else would the world know that you are one otherwise?

If you like wearing cute clothes and insulting anybody that doesn't agree with you on Twitter, then it's just the job for you.
