We're being spammed

Have seen two totally irrelevant threads on the board. Both regarding babies. I wonder if someone is trying to remind us of our proper function. The only purpose I can think of is to drive 'proper ' threads down the board. I have reported the threads suggesting that they are moved to chat but not commented as I don't want to bump them. Suggest this might be a good way to deal if we get lots of these.

OK I've done one. This is a venn diagram representing sex.

The circle on the left represents women (including woc, disabled women, post-menopausal women, women who have pcos, women who have had hysterectomies, female athletes etc)

The circle on the right represents trans identified males and men

There are no gender biscuits in my diagram

OK, I am late to this party but I've just followed a link from a thread I started (the one about the clapping game) to this thread.

Not entirely clear what a sealion is (obviously I need to follow a few more links), but I just wanted to say that my OP on the clapping game one was totally in good faith. This is a rhyme my daughter taught me this morning. I grew up in a different region and sang different rhymes - some of them pretty rude (as is normal with playground rhymes), but none with references to DV, however cartoonish.

I genuinely was a little shocked and wondered whether I was just overreacting. The thread did not go the way I was expecting and I can totally see why it got moved to Chat. Very probably I was wrong to post it in Feminist Chat in the first place. I was hoping for a bit of petspective from a feminist viewpoint and that's certainly not what I got. I can only apologise.

Obviously I must have made a wrong call. But that doesn't make me a fake or some kind of antifeminist spammer. I'm sure this stuff does go on, but this isn't one of those times.

P.S. I do NC a lot after posting about some personal stuff (and being identified once). But that doesn't make me a spammer, either.

The sport thread was quite interesting. I had previously not really thought about it as a big issue (although had seen in passing threads on here but ignored them as not interested etc) Having reached peak trans now, I can see the importance and that thread helped me to chrystalise my thoughts- why it matters that sport is segregated by sex. Writing that it's simple but that thread was good for physical attributes that can't be determined by hormones. Also the photos... How ? How is this allowed? Really struck home to me.

Someone mentioned upthread about posters starting to agree then wavering and those ones are dodgy... I started to talk to DH about all this and felt all stupid and I can see how I'd definitely be outwitted in a discussion about this. Not all of us who waver/ask questions are being sneaky. Honest guv!
