Comrades,

The framing of the self-id debate as 'Corbynistas vs. Mumsnet' is a deliberate tactic by the right wing propaganda machine and done to undermine Jeremy Corbyn and the Labour party and paint it as hopelessly divided. We're not.

It is important to remember that only a Corbyn gov't will lift women out of poverty, build homes, invest in the economy, make tuition fees free and stop invading the Middle East. Jeremy, though he doesn't hold our position, is the only Labour MP who has not only come out and said that women are entitled to a debate and to campaign against self-id, but that we have a right to raise money to see if the Equalities Act 2010 exemptions are being misused by AWS.

Hope everyone is well. Mumsnet you are indeed mighty.

The amusing thing is that Jacob Rees Mogg is the most likely politician to speak out about self ID. He is also in with a shout of Tory leader.......

Everyonematters · 13/02/2018 17:39

Yes you've got to ask how bad must Corbyn's stance on women's rights be when it risks making a conservative Christian look more liberal, haven't you?

Option A - Prime Minister JC who proposes legislation that ignores basic biology, thus simultaneously erasing all rights and protections for women AND making existing and future sex inequality unmeasurable and therefore untackalable

Option B Prime Minister JM who thinks this is crazy and it is rumoured is prepared to speak up against it. Personally does not believe in abortion but has committed not to impose his view on voters.

Nice one Corbyn.

Horridemma · 13/02/2018 17:44

So come Labour - admit your are in the wrong! Apologise to the female sex, let us have our rights back, stand up and say that our votes counts, get rid of the crazies who do not like women and .......... maybe ........ just maybe ....... munsnet will love you again. Because at the moment you have pissed a huge amount of the population off ....

JoyTheUnicorn · 13/02/2018 17:45

Comrades to me is 1984, would rather not go there!

LindyHopSkipRunner · 13/02/2018 17:47

I'm sick of them all treating being female as some kind of essence.

It's not an essence you can spray or apply yourself, as gender ID-ers seem to be insisting. And neither is it an essence that is inherent and which forces women to change nappies, as the Rees Moggs would argue.

It's biology.

KERALA1 · 13/02/2018 17:48

Although there are people like Caroline Flint in the Labour party

Everyonematters · 13/02/2018 17:50

Would he argue this? don't know much about RM beyond his persona and abortion views.

And neither is it an essence that is inherent and which forces women to change nappies, as the Rees would argue

Everyonematters · 13/02/2018 17:51

Yey for Caroline Flint.

Spudlet · 13/02/2018 17:54

Those at the sharp end will draw confort from the knowledge they are part of a larger issue.

I am sure the same will be able to be said of the first woman to be raped in prison by some self-id-ing be-penised chancer in a skirt who'd like free access to women.

'Lie back and think of England, love! You're part of a larger issue!' Yep, very 'conforting'. Hmm

Tell me the safeguards being built into self-id to stop this happening, because so far I haven't heard about any.

thebewilderness · 13/02/2018 17:59

Those at the sharp end will draw confort from the knowledge they are part of a larger issue.

Women are at the sharp end. Women are always at the sharp end.
If self ID is codified into law women will no longer be able to participate in the public sphere in reasonable safety from predatory males. If you read your history that is the reason the first women's public loo in London was built. Men promptly burned it to the ground.

IfNot · 13/02/2018 18:02

The way the whole thing is (not) being dealt with by the LP smacks of "let the mengrown-ups talk and we will get to your little peeve at some point later, if there's time."
It's beyond patronising.

Horridemma · 13/02/2018 18:10

I am delighted to announce that I have made more women aware of what is happening. I have directed them towards Mumsnet. A number had no idea of what our political 'masters' are planning, the actions of transactivists, Swim England's re-education concept and how the political parties have such a low opinion of the female sex. They are as angry as me.

Spread the word!

thebewilderness · 13/02/2018 18:11

Not a real woman is about a woman displaying what is considered male behaviour, isn't it?

That is my recollection also. Women who were violating their sex roles by acting like a people were not real women (as described in men's literature).
These days uppity women would be transitioned instead of lobotomized.

Everyonematters · 13/02/2018 18:17

Go Horridemna !

This is exactly what we need to be doing, telling the people this will affect. Everyone I have spoken to so far has initially thought I was joking, the whole thing is so ludicrous.

CurriedNoodle · 13/02/2018 18:22

Go Horridemna!

I too have been peak-transing for all I'm worth.

It's earned me my fair share of death/rape threats but I'm not backing down. I know in my own conscience that I have not been hateful or 'phobic' but am merely stating reality and standing up for women.

If only those in the public eye could start putting themselves on the line too.

BigEthel · 13/02/2018 18:22

Jeremy says an awful lot of things. Then he says the opposite and says we didn't understand what he really meant, as with student fees.

I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him. And I was born and bred Labour and suffered under the Tories.

OlennasWimple · 13/02/2018 18:24

Ah, I get it now.

This is the Labour Party's Great Leap Forward! We are supposed to be grateful that we are moving towards a new system in our country and prepared to put up with collateral damage in the name of progress.

Right, I see.

What is it that men are sacrificing as we advance towards our new utopia, could someone remind me please?

Hmm
Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 13/02/2018 18:26

Ooh i know this one olennas

FUCK ALL!!!

InfiniteSheldon · 13/02/2018 18:27

The Right are far too busy selfdestructing to frame the Left for something it's actually doing: failing women abysmally.

thebewilderness · 13/02/2018 18:51

Right now the right are pissing themselves laughing at the left tearing itself apart yet again
This has rather lost its efficacy as a manipulative tool since Trump adopted it to justify killing anyone who refuses to submit.
The thing is that there is no monolithic right or left that all march in lockstep, and I personally am deeply cynical about anyone who frames disputes in such a way to manipulate others. We are not sheep like that you can herd us so. We are more cat like in that we will decide whether or not to follow you when you call.

Terftastic · 13/02/2018 18:59

Olennas - yes - to be closely followed by the Cultural Revolution where they continue the purge of women people who don't follow the new ideology.

thebewilderness · 13/02/2018 19:15

I say if you don't like it: Change it!
Had you been paying attention you might have noticed that that is what we are doing. Always so bizarre when someone comes to instruct women to get to work doing what they have been doing right along.

CertainHalfDesertedStreets · 13/02/2018 19:26

I'm going to end up kneeling outside a school with a placard which says 'Transwomen are women' round my neck while Lily Madigan throws rocks at my head aren't I?

Bloody Labour Party.

Horridemma · 13/02/2018 20:02

Usual stuff from mr lily madigan today - trans this and trans that. Nothing specific on female health, maternity rights, CSA, child care, housing ..... the Kent ladies are forgotten about. He is to busy swanning about Bristol with his usual self promotion.

Are labour sure they want him as women's rep in Kent? He is not doing much for them

Horridemma · 13/02/2018 20:04

I am not sure we will be stoned straight away - we will probably have our wombs removed first in the re-education camp.

Which reminds me that Swim England have not responded to my question
