Also "women's clothes" I'm in jeans, bra, boxers and long-sleeved t-shirt at the moment, all of which belong to me, so are "women's clothes" and all but the jeans/bra came from the mens sections - now admittedly, they're rather bigger than a size 8, but I find the idea that you're so desperate for clothes that you're begging on twitter, and yet you wouldn't accept half of what I'm wearing (in a smaller size) to be pretty damn insulting to people who are actually struggling (when I've been poor, I've worn what I could find/afford personally)

That and the fact it has him name, and a "burner" means an extra account, means that this can't go ignored.

Madigan is a provocateur. Much of what they do is to get a reaction. Unfortunately though, Madigan is like catnip to the people they set out to provoke.

I think it's worthwhile making the effort to sort out actual facts from truthiness.

TBH I think even Lily isn't dim enough to name a shill account called LilyBurner... surely?!

That said, I doubt it's actually a women who set that account up - more likely to be someone in Lily's circle who secretly hates them and is dicking with them (I bet there is more than one). Snowflakes in those kind of circles are always creating drama for the craic.

Im' glad someone has linked the Nolan principles.

They don't necessarily apply to LM as he is not actually a holder of public office. But a) the Labour Party may have their own internal rules about this sort of thing (if they don't, they should...) b) LM has said repeatedly that he aspires to be an MP, and as such should really be behaving in such a way now, if only to stop the media dredging stuff up from his past once he is old enough to stand for election; and c) the Nolan Principles make it clear that others are obliged to step intervene if they become aware that a breach by someone else has occurred - given the amount of Labour MPs (who are bound by this) who fawn over him, one would expect one of them to put their arm around him and explain why it's really, really not a good idea.

Or, y'know, he could accept some lovely new clothes from the Russians or something and be beholden to them forever more...

I’m appalled by Lily’s behaviour so far but I’d counsel against this kind of attitude:

It does look bad, but maybe it’s intended to look bad. Maybe it’s intended to provoke a reaction and make us look bad.

I’ve been peak transing on an hourly basis since mid December thanks to you lot, but I still think it’s important to remain sceptical and self critical. Lily may not deserve the benefit of the doubt, but it’s essential we don’t become the baying mob.

Genitals generally refer to the external characteristics.

Most women, if they want to make a point about being a woman, would say menstruation or womb.
