Here's the URL: please do the consultation. (I think this has been posted before, but it bears repeating.)
consult.gov.scot/family-law/review-of-the-gender-recognition-act-2004/
To note:

  1. At the end, you will be asked whether you are resident in Scotland, the rest of the UK, or elsewhere - i.e. you don't have to be in Scotland, though obviously it's more important to be heard if you are.
  2. You will also be asked whether you want your response published with your name, without your name, or not at all - if that makes a difference to how you write your answers, it might be helpful to know this up front. Closes on March 1st, but don't wait till then!

Standing up to be counted.

All done.

Name publishing allowed and email given.

Any problems I'll know where it comes from as I used my middle name.

Done, wondering whether to share on facebook

StillPissedOff · 11/02/2018 16:43

Done and submitted.

Same as many others, I struggled with several questions, having to explain, "I can't answer 'Yes' or 'No' or Don't know' to this question because...".

This is a vitally important consultation. And as BetsyM00 says on the previous page, "England, Wales & NI this is your consultation too so please complete it." Yes - we may never get another opportunity to voice our opinion.

terryleather · 11/02/2018 18:11

Submitted (now there's a word...)

I wish I could be more measured on this subject but I find it neigh on impossible and I worry now that I've submitted quite the rant, especially on the question about non-binary which I think is the biggest load of bs and can't believe it's even being considered for any kind of legislation.

At least I've added my voice and I certainly feel better for taking some action.

"Submitted (now there's a word...)"

Yes indeedy! Spotted that half a second after pressing 'Post Message'... I thought, really hope nobody gets the wrong impression Blush

Anyway, just wish to highlight the post by Sillydoggy Mon 05-Feb-18 14:47:46 on page 4, beginning with:
"I am unashamedly trying to get this back on the front page. Do all of you England and Wales people who are still waiting for your consultation realise that this could be the only one you get?"

This! And Thanks OP for highlighting it.

Bump

Popchyk · 13/02/2018 12:42

Phew. Done it.

But don't be put off thinking you'll have to spend ages on it. You can just click Yes or No to the questions. That's much better than not filling it in at all.

Closes 1st March

fairplayforwomen.com/scotland/

The above link was invaluable to me when I was filling out the survey.

Auldspinster · 13/02/2018 12:52

Done!

OneFlewOverTheDodosNest · 13/02/2018 14:06

I had a rant about inability to accurately define terminology and the biased language massively leading responses. I was especially annoyed by the question that went along the lines of:
We're reviewing the gender recognition process should we:
a) remove all gatekeeping for everyone in Scotland
b) remove all gatekeeping for everyone in the whole world
c) remove all gatekeeping for everyone and criminalise the ability to recognise biological sex
d) don't know

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 13/02/2018 17:52

YY. I had a bit of a rant about that in the section at the end "what did you think of this consultation" or similar.

Everythingisboswollox · 13/02/2018 18:07

Long time lurker here and until a few weeks ago was pretty oblivious to what's been going on re transgender and self-ID; but what I have been reading has incensed me so much that I too have reached 'peak trans' (as has DH) and have completed the consultation.

Waddlelikeapenguin · 14/02/2018 01:02

Bump

WhatsAllThisShouting · 15/02/2018 19:02

Also posted on a different thread but I've filled in this insane thing. Been a mn lurker for yonks, trans peaked last year (used to be live and let live, but this isn't that) and the anger has bubbled and simmered and boiled over. I have discussed it since then with DP, immediate female relatives etc but it's so hard without coming across a bit... er, stressed?! Reading this survey out to DP finally tipped him over the peak! I certainly didn't hold back in my answers, kept it the right side of rude and stuck to the indisputable facts. I was rather shouty on the children and non-binary questions though - I mean wtaf?!! I left neutral on the what do you think of this survey questions simply because I was shattered by the time I got through that pile of word salad. Will also be spoiling every ballot paper going forward, with reasons why, until our politicians sort their shit out.

Bumpity

fascinated · 20/02/2018 21:37

done - babe in arms mean it was a bit hasty but by god i let rip a bit!!!!

fascinated · 20/02/2018 21:39

i may have used words such as

absurd

nonsensical

unfair

not my best work but v satisfying!!!!

BlindYeo · 20/02/2018 21:43

Done. The inbuilt assumption of the need for changes in the first place was infuriating though.

bellasuewow · 20/02/2018 22:22

Done

thisonehasalittlecar · 21/02/2018 21:29

Stayed up until 3 am yesterday filling in this nonsense. I'm probably not as dogmatic on this issue as some here but really the stuff to do with children is sinister and depressing in equal measures.

PencilsInSpace · 21/02/2018 22:08

Bump!

ONE WEEK LEFT

OldCrone · 24/02/2018 13:31

Another bump. Don't forget to fill this in before next Thursday.

LadyLance · 24/02/2018 15:41

Just done this. I didn't realise it was open to people in the rest of the UK until today, so giving it a quick bump so others in the rest of the UK can fill it out if they haven't already.

FancyRibbon · 24/02/2018 20:53

Done. What a shit set of questions for a supposedly neutral government consultation. Very hard to answer some of the questions if you don’t accept the premise of self ID, since it seems very much written for answering by people who DO accept self ID.
