The backstory:

I noticed as you do that a post came up on my Facebook newsfeed for whatever reason the algorithm decided I might be interested in such a post. I decided to ask a question, please feel free to let me know your views, personally I came to the conclusion that with this level of non critical thinking or non thinking we may as well give up as a species:

I could be wrong about this but in my experience a rage response to a question is a tell for a narcissist.

AngryAttackKittens · 25/01/2018 06:28

Also a tell for someone who's lying, but we repeat ourselves.

Things seem to be escalating in the Labour party too: www.spectator.co.uk/2018/01/women-come-last-in-labours-deranged-victim-hierarchy/

I can still click on the link and see it

To be fair to her, looking at her fb profile, she is bisexual and her partner is a transman. There's still no need for her aggression but I can see why this generates strong feeling for her. She's clearly one of many intersectional feminists getting very het up about fighting as many minority issues as she can. Racism being one of them. There's no reasoning with them because where you see science and rational thinking, they see bigotry and priviledge

Yes her facts are bollocks and her post was public but I think there are better subjects to engage with. It risks coming across as goady otherwise. Someone like that is going to take a simple question as an attack. It would threaten her whole identity for her to actually consider what you're saying.

MyBrilliantDisguise · 25/01/2018 15:58

Well done - what an idiot that person is. You remained very calm - doubt I could've done that.

MyBrilliantDisguise · 25/01/2018 16:00

So interesting that person referred to the violence against trans people but completely ignored the amount of male-female domestic violence.

The irony is that the question was looking deeper than the relatively simple biological definition.

The question is precisely the same as 'why can't someone be a woman?' i.e. why are chromosomes deemed by some to be the criterion for gender?

Sometimes people's phraseology is just misinterpreted and jumped upon. You might be forgiven for thinking some cannot wait to take a negative interpretation.

DarkPeakScouter · 27/01/2018 23:44

I got blocked too - whoops!

Whatnextxx · 27/01/2018 23:48

Oh no DarkPeakScouter - did you say something bad? Like the truth?

What so she's going to get you fired from a job you don't have? Sweet baby jeebus on a tricycle. That's all kinds of special.

Cognotive dissonance & chips please, lots of salt and vinegar.

TRA's really are the gift that keeps on giving.

DarkPeakScouter · 27/01/2018 23:59

What next - it’s like you read my post!

Whatnextxx · 28/01/2018 00:02

Possibly - I had a cunning plan to be able to view any potentially libellous comments - but shush don't tell anyone Grin

Weezol - yeah, sad state of affairs but the only thing we can do is to stay faithful to truth and not get drawn into the collective delusional insanity. Found a very funny Twitter post issuing a WHO health alert: twitter.com/SoulSurvivor101/status/957386517722300418

I peak transed about June tbh, but am keeping up the fight. Talked to my dad (72) about it all, and he's keeping the ripples going. His gym posse of retirees (roughly mid 50's to early 80's) got about 20% of their workouts done as they kept breaking off to discuss it and express their disbelief at the lunacy of it all.

The only time that usually happens it when discussing what variety of potato to set this year and the best way to discourage slugs.

OnTheList · 28/01/2018 01:13

Telling a biology lecturer to go google intersex..really?! Grin

The way they shout bigot at anyone asking questions is going to be the real downfall of all of this I reckon. The more people they tell to go educate themselves, the more people actually do go and educate themselves and once they educate themselves they are overwhelmingly gender critical

OnTheList · 28/01/2018 01:15

Also the reporting part..do they really think they can get a biology lecturer fired for..knowing biology. Wow.

SwerfyTerfy · 28/01/2018 04:25

I'm not surprised. I was abused online to the point of deleting my Facebook about 18 months ago. My "crime" was saying that transwomen are transwomen, they are not women and that saying they were was damaging to actual women. I had to delete my Facebook when they went through my friends list, messaged 40 people including my teenage son, husband and mother to say horrific things about me. My son was told that I should be raped and burned alive. Someone said that to a 13 year old boy, about his own mother. Disgusting.

They also tried to call my place of work. Daft because I work in an office on my own (but I'm actually the boss of 6 other people who work separately, 2 of which work abroad). Should I have fired myself? Hmm

Now I have my own social media accounts but keep them unlinked from anyone I know personally. It's horrible that I have to do that, but I can't risk it happening again.

stoneagefertilitydoll · 28/01/2018 07:12

Jesus Swerfy - how, during that attack, didn't even one of them step back and think 'is this right?' - how on earth can people who think they are campaigning for social justice not realise that?

We have people here popping up and expressing concern that we're being too mean sometimes, and that's just chat on a board - where are the voices of moderation in their groups!

AngryAttackKittens · 28/01/2018 07:15

But ladybrains! Indistinguishable from actual women! Only a bigot wouldn't want these fine examples of womanhood in her changing rooms/shared room at a shelter/prison cell!

AngryAttackKittens · 28/01/2018 07:16

@stoneage

No shit. How do you not have a "wait, are we the baddies?" moment at some point in between sending death threats?

SwerfyTerfy · 28/01/2018 07:42

Exactly.
I can categorically say that despite being faced with some horrific abusers (I work internationally with DV victims) I've never ever made a death threat, I've never told anybody to get raped, die, burn alive, set themselves on fire, jump off a bridge or any other things that I have been told. The thing is it's just male violence with a dress on.

I've been in an abusive relationship, witnessed my mothers and tried (sometimes successfully, sometimes not) to free women from others, too. The entitlement, the insults, the attitude that if you don't back down and open your legs (whether you want to or not) is the same.
The attitude that if you don't go out of your way to accomodate their whims you're an oppressor is the same.
The victim mentality they have is the same.
Then when that doesn't work the insults, threat, physical violence and beatings are the same too. Except now people are so desperate to be non oppressive and liberal that they've lost their brains on this issue. It's not liberal to give to one group (mostly men, great) by taking from another.

In the last 10yrs 6 trans people have been murdered in the UK. 3 were prostitutes (2 murdered by clients one by her husband) 2 were killed for financial gain (drug debts, benefit fraud) the other was killed by another trans person.

But in the year ending in march 2017 on average 6.6 women a week were murdered in domestic homicides in England and Wales.

Say that to a TRA and they lose their shit at you. it's supposed to be that transwomen are women and that they have it the same as women but also so much worse because of evil mean terfs.
Hmm

ILikeyourHairyHands · 28/01/2018 07:53

Oh dear. Natalie's not very bright is she?

ILikeyourHairyHands · 28/01/2018 07:55

Great post Swerfy and unfortunately completely true.

InfiniteSheldon · 28/01/2018 08:09

brought up on scraps of incoherent postmodern rubbish and no real ability to think critically. Great point as is it's just make violence with a dress on
