I noticed as you do that a post came up on my Facebook newsfeed for whatever reason the algorithm decided I might be interested in such a post. I decided to ask a question, please feel free to let me know your views, personally I came to the conclusion that with this level of non critical thinking or non thinking we may as well give up as a species:

I would be more concerned about someone teaching biology promoting reiki and the celestine prophecy, I dislike most of what many of you say about trans issues on the feminist boards and dont agree with you.However scientifically about this you are right. It seems however you are selective about scientific endeavour and the favourite term on here 'critical thinking' if supporting such total belief based un scientifically backed up 'treatments'. I have only looked at your details because you posted them- and are drawing attention to apparently being a scientist.

FarFrom. What is your issue with Reiki? When I was working as a full time lecturer I found it to be incredibly relaxing after a busy stressful day. You are of course entitled to have any opinion you choose but how I choose to spend my leisure time is my concern and in no way detracts from my former career within the biological sciences. Likewise you are entitled to hold whatever views you wish regarding my posts on "trans" issues however you do not know me or my circumstances and I can assure you that my posts come from a very informed and personal view and yes it is something that I am passionate about having seen the damage done to people I know personally.

Can some kind person show FarFrom how paragraph breaks work?

My thoughts exactly Datun, issue a threat then run away without even bothering to find out that it has been 6 years since I left the university following a stroke which left me incapacitated to the extent I was unable to continue in my teaching career which is why I am a self employed tutor taking on as much or as little as my health allows xx

I just read it. Rolled eyes within 30 seconds at the usual aggression of a person who lacks debating skills and avoids answering a question so as to not give the correct answer, in 1 sentence.

There are lots of these fire-breathing bores on Facebook, the ultimate vehicle for attention cravers- showing off about being some kind of cause-leader or other .They put me in mind of men who fight wars all their lives because essentially it gives their lives meaning and if they stopped, they actually would not know what to do with themselves.

There could have been an interesting debate arising from the question. But, oh well. No matter the cause, when I see that kind of aggression and poorly attempted dismissiveness I don't want to know, as I'm not aligning with that type of person. They've nothing to teach me.

Aggression is generally a sign of lack of basis for their argument and, of course, an unwillingness to try to understand what is being said. So you could say aggression is the ultimate accolade from someone like that.
