I get the spredsheet and evidence posters - but what is the 'doxxing group'? Is this a list of women and allies who they intend to 'doxx'? How do we know about this? Is thsi a group of random individuals or is this sanctioned by the LP?

hat's great news on "Tara Wood" - I thought they were going to get away with it. Suppose they still might. Some sob story in court about violence against transpeople - when this was clearly a case of male violence against women. Classic - as old as the hills - male violence.

There are various public figures who I automatically think would see sense on this issue. Then one of them speaks up in support of the transgender lobby.

while I'm glad the right wing media are picking it up, some of the language is making me wince - from RL ' people with penises and weighty scrotums who like to dress up as ladies', 'dimbos in dresses'. Many (most?) Transwomen are not involved in these campaigns and just want to get quietly on with their lives like the rest of us. When Liddle is pejorative about TW in this way he hurts them too.

Well those quiet, unassuming transwomen need to speak up and challenge self-ID and the revolting harrassment that women are receiving. With a few notable exception like Miranda, they seem quite content to sit this one out. As Martin Luther King said: “In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.” Historically women have been allies and supporters of transexual TW. Where are they now when our rights are under sustained attack?

I've followed these debates on MN for a while, but we're in a bit of a bubble here. Most of us are what 5 years ago would have been called women, but in this case I shall refer to as 'natal women'.

I've only been on twitter for the last week or so, and I have seen the odd TW pop up and say the equivalent of 'not in my name'. Gender fluid people are around 1% of the population, with TW being a small proportion of even that %. The point is, there aren't very many of them at all, so just by the numbers it will be hard for them to get involved in all the conversations.

A lot of the really hateful language on twitter is coming from 'trans allies' rather than trans people themselves.

If we cant get them to accept a penis is a male sex organ I reckon our chances of that are piss poor. But I'm willing to give it a go.

I'm genuinely curious about this, can any one explain the reasoning? Do these people insist on calling Elton John 'Reg Dwight' and Sting 'Gordon Sumner'?

Well here's the TiM who spoke at the Vauxhall CLP meeting yesterday - he apparently co-authors academic papers with his male self.

As one of the replies says, having a "dead name" can be super handy when it's not being used to enact TERF violence at you.
