Hi MNers!

Just first of all want to say this isn't going to be a goady thread or a place to slag anyone off of be abusive. Everyone can have an opinion and everyone's allowed to think that they like.

2nd, if your anti-trans or don't believe trans people should be alllwed to self ID or that they aren't the gender they say they are etc pls be respectful and don't post here. There are loads of threads about all kinds of discussions about being trans that you can post on and I think it would be fair if you didn't do that here. I Obviously can't prevent anyone but It would be nice for this space to be respected as trans friendly and not taken over for other reasons. If you don't agree just leave and post somewhere else instead of using this thread please!

That now said - I'm all for trans rights and I think trans men are men and transwomen are women. I don't know if many MNers feel the same but if you do say hi! Or if anyone is trans know that you have an ally in me Grin this thread can be for a chat or support or (friendly!) discussion. Or maybe I'm the only one here lol and I can just talk to myself...

OP if you're still about, these might be the naughty anti-trans people you want

Trans friendly thread!
RedToothBrush · 24/01/2018 15:56

Kittens, how many members of Transcult see Jeremy as their dear leader? Getting a selfie with him, is the ultimate endorsement of political validity and worth.

Battleax · 24/01/2018 15:57

just identify it back in again

Doh! So obvious! Smile

RedToothBrush · 24/01/2018 15:57

(by this I mean seeing JC as more than simply a party leader, but some sort of saviour).

BeyondWW · 24/01/2018 15:58

He's not the messiah, he's a very naughty boy

AngryAttackKittens · 24/01/2018 15:59

@Red to be fair, the picture of him with Lily Madigan? It's not often that you see a pic of an old man with a 19 year old and it's the 19 year old who's been blurred a bit because the old man has nicer skin.

AngryAttackKittens · 24/01/2018 16:01

Maybe it's because I've been out of the country but I don't quite get the fascination with Corbyn. Don't have anything against him either, I'm just struggling to understand how he attained this sort of messianic glow that people seem to be dazzled by.

Weezol · 24/01/2018 16:01

Collidascope You are not alone. But before I can decide to align with you, I need to know:

Do you roll Chewits into a diffent shape before eating?

Do you make Chewit sandwiches by enclosing a Chewit of one flavour between two other Chewits of an alternate but equally respected flavour?

What do you do with the wrappers?

Without answers to the above I am unable to accept you as authentic rather than just someone riding on the coat tails of the genuinely oppressed.

You don't believe enough you neo-liberal Blairite.

DodoPatrol · 24/01/2018 16:05

seeing JC as some sort of saviour

It's the initials. They confuse people.

Battleax · 24/01/2018 16:05

I've been here all along and I don't remotely get it either, despite being really quite left.

Spartacunt · 24/01/2018 16:05

Good thing his beard isn't longer then.

Hope can take on a life of its own.

I can't cope any more [sob]

I can't tell who is being serious, and who is taking the piss, and who is being serious about people taking the piss.

Can't we go back to just being men and women? And elephants.

Collidascope · 24/01/2018 16:13

Weezol, I never have made a chewit sandwich... I hope you're not being truscum re. chewit-eating and are simply trying to the widen the bandwidth of what it is to eat chewits?

As to what I do with the wrappers, I occasionally fold them or roll them up, but more often scrunch them and leave them on the table. If I'm feeling very annoying, I scrunch them up and drop them in my partner's hood when he is too focussed on the TV to notice, in order to enjoy his groans of (loving...) exasperation when he realises.

LangCleg · 24/01/2018 16:17

Clothes horses ARE horses.

I'm in an abusive relationship with mine. And have got the injured fingers to prove it.

Flossie4 · 24/01/2018 16:18

There are definetely more people that support trans rights than there are people that don't, mn just seems to be the website where people go to talk about how much they hate us!
Now you are playing the victim OP. Grow up.
No one 'hates' trans people. People can dress and feel however they want to as long as they do not try to walk all over my rights, feelings, sensibilities and the efforts I and millions of women over hundreds of years have made as women, to ensure we are heard, respected and understood. Those have been fairly recent, positive developments and no man in a dress who 'feels' he is a woman can possibly understand or know what biological women (real women) have to go through, face, fight for, struggle with or deal with. Do not imagine you are similar in any way, or on a par.
Do your own thing. I have no difficulties with that at all and don't hate anyone for the mental issues they have with their gender. Why not think about the issues and how they affect other people a bit more instead of looking for sympathy?

Actually, according to the multi-country study that is doing the social media rounds at the moment, in the UK:

25% support self-ID
50% think the status quo is far enough
25% think the current GRA goes too far
