I donated as Almighty God and Damian Bailey Peoples Momentum but they have not said that. I have been informed they do not have to discuss the reasons why, their payment partner will no longer process my payments and the last line was "we can no longer provide you or your business with our service". I am stunned and sad as i have donated to so many causes through them.

HaruNoSakura

Thank you for taking the time to write such a comprehensive post.

I'm struck by how complex it is. But not only that, also how much it relies on interpretation and human decision making.

It's all too easy to sit there on the sidelines thinking that can't be right, that sounds daft, without realising quite what goes into the entire process.

I too find it depressing that words can't have, let's call them, common sense meanings. And am now completely unsurprised that a law designed to ease the lives of those with gender dysphoria has actually allowed men to compete in women's sport, deny biology and let double rapists be transferred to the female estate.

I sincerely hope that when it is reformed/amended the rule that 'what isn't forbidden is allowed' gives pause for thought.

Thank you again. Your post is invaluable.

Democracy is being usurped.

MorrisZapp · 24/01/2018 08:42

I'm totally lost now.

We've won and lost this one about six times in the past week.

I'm out, I think. I'm worried I'm tweeting about events I'm ill informed about. When the dust settles and we have some kind of verifiable picture of labour's position on self ID I'll mouth off again if needed.

CuppaTeaAndAJammieDodger · 24/01/2018 09:14

WARNING PLEASE READ

Morning all.

I'm here with a warning I'm afraid. Can't reveal my sources of course but suffice to say they're pretty reliable.

There are Labour staffers working in membership that are involved in that secret Facebook group and some of them are after women on Mumsnet (I guess to dox/add to their hitlist).

I have no idea how far they've gone already - as we know the list is now not in the public domain so we can't check - but this individual thought it only fair to warn us.

(will post on other relevant threads)

Ereshkigal · 24/01/2018 09:36

That's fucking crazy.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 24/01/2018 09:39

Do you mean all of us or just party members? What are they going to do with us when they catch us? Ceremonially cast us out of the Labour party if we are members? Doxx us more publicly? Come after us???

I'm confused by this whole business. :(

Thehairthebod · 24/01/2018 09:42

This whole thing is fucking pathetic.

AngryAttackKittens · 24/01/2018 09:42

Didn't someone who was posting here have a contact at the Daily Mail? "Insane Labour staffers attack female members over Mumsnet posts" seems like a headline tailor made for the Mail.

AllMyBestFriendsAreMetalheads · 24/01/2018 09:43

"She turned me into a newt!"

Ereshkigal · 24/01/2018 09:43

Yes, what are they actually going to DO with all this sinister intel?

AngryAttackKittens · 24/01/2018 09:44

I mean seriously, Labour, you're a political party, not a disappointing sequel to Mean Girls. Will the fucking grown ups please step in and sort this shit out?

cafeaulaitpourvous · 24/01/2018 09:48

It's like the war - we are the resistance ....😫

CuppaTeaAndAJammieDodger · 24/01/2018 09:56

Grin

Anyway, I have just cancelled my direct debit, chopped my Labour membership card into bits (then had to piece it back together again when I realised I needed my membership number to resign Smile) and sent an angry email to my (now ex) CPL. I was avoiding doing that as it just reduces the amount of gender critical members within Labour, but just could not associate myself with such a misogynistic and bullying party anymore.

facelessvongorgeous · 24/01/2018 09:59

@CuppaTeaAndAJammieDodger, I've sent you a PM about your warning.

OOAOML · 24/01/2018 10:05

Ok how does one resign from Labour? Stop the DD and wait for them to notice? Is there a flounce email address? I really can't face the attention seeking 'tweet a picture of your cut up membership card' (ok I'm a wimp and can't face being hassled over it). And also I am so scunnered now I'd probably have to give a bullet point list of all the reasons as there are several. I should have done this last year. I didn't even vote for them in the general election, I suppose I just hang on for the leadership votes (I'm in Scotland, Labour here have a lot of leadership votes).

AngryAttackKittens · 24/01/2018 10:07

These ridiculous children are going to guarantee a Tory victory at the next election, aren't they? It's so frustrating!

athingthateveryoneneeds · 24/01/2018 10:08

Not a member of the Labour party, but I was a Green until a few years ago when they started this transwomen are women rhetoric.

Labour are welcome to put my MN username on a list. Biscuit

CuppaTeaAndAJammieDodger · 24/01/2018 10:09

thanks facelessvongorgeous for some reason MN won't let me reply, but have read it.

ChattyLion · 24/01/2018 13:33

Seriously if you are concerned that Labour staffers might be breaking the Data Protection Act then please call ICO helpline for advice. There are very hefty legal remedies available if there has been found to be a breach of DPA.

PocketCoffeeEspresso · 24/01/2018 14:02

their payment partner will no longer process my payments

Depending on what they mean by that, that could be pretty crippling.... hopefully they mean that their payment provider won't process your payments only to GoFundMe - because if they mean to anyone that's going to put a bit of a crimp in your online shopping (especially if it's someone big like Stripe)

BeyondWW · 24/01/2018 14:20

I wonder if you could ask for their PP details, so you can write directly to them citing political discrimination...? Wink I’m quite sure companies can’t stop others taking your money for your political beliefs?

jeaux90 · 26/01/2018 00:10

Just seen that Vauxhall CLP tweeted that transwomen are allowed on AWS. (No clarity about GRC just a load of the usual misogyny) This shit just never stops.

AreYouOrHaveYouEverBeenATERF · 26/01/2018 00:35

This is the whole thing, isn't it? They can tweet this - but it's against the law. They can say that Labour is "ahead of the law" - but that means they are breaking the law. Which is what the whole crowdfunder was about in the first place. A legal challenge.

And now they suspended Jennifer. I'm just so angry about this - you just feel helpless - welcome to being a woman!

SweetGrapes · 26/01/2018 14:54

Does this mean that Jennifer can no longer challenge them?
Does it have to someone on the inside? Can't the general public challenge them?
