I've recently become addicted to a Gofundme campaign. Every time I press refresh the total raised has jumped up and I don't seem to be able to stop.

I'm trying to stay within Mumsnet rules here, so obviously I can't link or promote it.

Does anyone else have this enjoyable problem?

If you log in and look at the petition theres a link to report it towards the bottom

Let me know if you can't find it and I'll screenshot it if that helps

ReefAndRiz · 14/01/2018 11:14

If the want to petition outside the government system and sign multiple times, why stop them? It keeps them off the fundraising page, it doesn't stop the legal challenge. Part of the legal challenge can be reinstatement in the party.

catgirl1976 · 14/01/2018 11:15

Hmm true Reef

stitchglitched · 14/01/2018 11:22

Just donated, couldn't afford much but wanted to contribute. Great to see the numbers going up!

PencilsInSpace · 14/01/2018 11:24

£8000!

Nineteenagain · 14/01/2018 11:29

Wooo hooo! Not to be a party pooper but I just went on to the change.org petition to report and the numbers signed kept shooting up. I find this very worrying but reef I take your point.

stitchglitched · 14/01/2018 11:32

I've just shared on fb, first time I've ever shared anything on this issue so bit nervous!

SadKitty86 · 14/01/2018 11:34

I love how they want anyone disagreeing with them expelled from their 'inclusive' party Grin

And if causing 'anxiety' by having your own opinions is now a sackable offense my dentist is in trouble (he's always telling me to lay off the choccy)

ReefAndRiz · 14/01/2018 11:38

Leave the woman hating control freaks to it. Our resources should go on debate with the open minded, organising and the legal challenge.

Anlaf · 14/01/2018 11:59

"We ask that they be expelled from our inclusive party"
Grin Grin Grin

Geronimoleapinglizards · 14/01/2018 12:06

This is amazing!!

Although also totally disheartening to see women on there calling people bigoted for supporting it. Why don't they see how much they're shooting themselves in the foot by supporting TRA'S? It's not rocket science.

DistaffSide · 14/01/2018 12:15

£8,030!

I saw a couple of posts asking what the thread was about. Apologies if it's been too unclear. Thanks to all those who expanded the discussion with interesting pictures of suffragettes and adding in some twitter accounts to keep us from getting bored.

Yeah no misogyny to see here Hmm

I would be interested to see how many of those TRAs would also vehemently support Rachel Dolezal and white, transrace people on BAME shortlists.

Change.org is notorious for multiple signatures. I wouldn't really worry about it too much. I don't see any harm in them using it. Reporting it and getting it took down will just fill them with even more rage than females standing up for themselves does and they will report the campaign 24/7. Best to leave them to it tbh.

officerhinrika · 14/01/2018 12:53

Thanks for this thread. I’ve donated and left my name on after a bit of thought. I’ve been getting more and more angry about the issue so it feels good to join in. If any of the sponsors are expelled it might be what finally shoves me out of the party. Currently I’m trying to persuade myself that it’s better to be inside in opposition but it’s getting harder.

hmmshock · 14/01/2018 12:59

Will the labour party also be outing those who make misogynist, racist, or anti-semitic comments?

No?
Yeah, not surprised.

hmmshock · 14/01/2018 13:01

Can someone report that guy from indominousrex's post to labour? Surely they can at least have a "no oral rape comments when arguing with TERFS" clause? Would that be too much to ask?

cromeyellow0 · 14/01/2018 13:16

One Labour Party Woman's Officer is now calling for the expulsion of members for "transphobic abuse".

I thought men up to middle age are the most likely to attempt and succeed at suicide, according to Lily this isn't true anymore. Confused

Trans people get more inclusion than the other protected characteristics and want more?

NotTerfNorCis · 14/01/2018 13:48

Again with the suicide card. Manipulative and also dangerous. TRAs like Madigan and Paris Lees are normalising the idea of suicidal behaviour among trans people.

HeyBells · 14/01/2018 13:53

Thanks for the thread. Clicked on it as I was bored and wondered what it was about. Have donated. Would never have known about this were it not for Mumsnet.

Another one who may leave the party over this. I've been a member for 30 years through many changes but this goes to my core.

I was at a talk by Samaritans the other night. They definitely said the biggest suicide group are young males up to 48.

MadamMinacious · 14/01/2018 13:58

We need to be the grown-ups here so to speak.

I agree and I've thought this on a number of threads. I understand the urge to be sarcastic and caustic about it all I really, really do. I just don't think it helps us.

I've donated too.

Vicxy · 14/01/2018 13:59

I think female people are more likely to attempt but male people are more likely to succeed. Though I doubt thats what Lily had in mind when refuting it. Its surely 'transpeople are the most likely to attempt and be sucessful'

NannyOggsKnickers · 14/01/2018 14:12

It seems that Lily is deleting comments on that post. I watch a dissenting post appear, just minutes ago, and now it’s gone.
