AIBU GoFundMe addiction

I've recently become addicted to a Gofundme campaign. Every time I press refresh the total raised has jumped up and I don't seem to be able to stop.

I'm trying to stay within Mumsnet rules here, so obviously I can't link or promote it.

Does anyone else have this enjoyable problem?

This is a turning point. And the transactivists are incandescent, not only because for once they can't delete or ban so many women but also because it's a left wing movement, which destroys their attempt to frame all opposition as bigots with far right Trump/Ukipper/One Nation type allegiances .

I think people are reaching peaktrans all over the place.
And for a variety of different reasons.
I object to women's protections and rights being trampled over by men. So I'll donate.
Today in a conversation with women who donated, neither have any real interest in the politics of it, but objected to trans 'being forced down my fucking throat everytime I turn on the TV'.
Trans activists now seem to have gained just enough courage to start pissing off straight men (debate on dating a trans woman). Bad move on their part.

Will be interesting to see which way the leadership jump. Madigan has pretty much laid it on the line and demanded a decision from them: do they expel the women involved from the Labour Party and make it clear the party no longer recognises or represents biological women, and that any woman who won't keep her mouth shut and accept her relegated status is a pariah and unwanted anyway ....

or do they acknowledge that there are a hell of a lot of women whose votes they need, and the publicity of all this is going to be a bit grim since Joe Public are not on board with this at all.

Amazing how quickly its rising. I think it would be even faster if it was about, say a legal challenge to the removal of single sex spaces. Wmen only shortlists are not generally too popular so a lot of people will not donate because of that, but will believe that males are not female and should not be 'treat as' such.

I'll bet the party leadership is absolutely bricking it behind closed doors now that they're facing a genuine legal challenge from a group that they can't dismiss as right-wing or blindly bigoted. They've tried to have their cake and eat it - now they'll have to actually pick a side, and whichever way they try and spin it they're going to alienate at least one set of voters.
